The headphones that come with the device are the kind that wraps around the head from ear to ear. The headset is not easily adjustable. My first purchase lasted for more than several years. Actually broke after falling off a balcony of more than 12 feet high. My replacement was not working in less than 2 weeks of purchase. Would skip and shut off randomly. Purchased mainly to use in my car which did not come with a CD player.

However, let me remind you that if you purchased this product after 10/30/2016 you have an extended return period good until 1/15/2017 that you can validate at any Best Buy store with your receipt or order number. I use it to listen to audio books and when I need to turn it off, it does not keep my place so that when I want to continue listening to the book I have to remember the exact numbers on the screen where I left off. Most inconvenient!! This Insignia Personal model is worthless to me. So sorry I bought it.
