Purchased for wife to listen to cd's instead of smart phone, she's happy with size, weight, ease of use and the sound quality thru inexpensive headphone set. Good value.

The price is cheap therefore there were cheap results.

Needed a portable CD player especially for travel for my special CD collection. Not able to add music to my phone so find it to be easy to use and very compact.

This twenty dollar baby really rocks! I bought this at Best Buy only a few days after another player (a name brand) just didn't cut it. I use it mostly when I'm running, so my first test was, hop on the treadmill at the gym and see if the player skips. Nope, not a bar of music lost. It also became immediately apparent that the quality of the sound was impressive; I used Sennheiser PMX80 behind the ear sport phones and the music was sweet. Then I got the player home, and hooked it up through the "Line Out" jack to my sound system; a very good feature I might add.. "Hah," I thought, "this will turn the sound from the Insignia to dust." NOPE! Even through my high-end system, it sounded great. Admittedly, a bit less in bass than my component cd player, but not enough to justify the some $480 difference in price! Still totally impressed. Final test: play it through a set of the studio quality cans I have. Again, totally impressed by the excellent sound quality. Oh, by the way, the CD I played for all my tests had many complex passages. Insignia handled them extremely well. So, bottom line....If you need a new new portable CD player, and have an extra twenty some-odd bucks kickin' around, I can't see how you could do any better than this one.

I listen to books on CD which I can borrow from the library. I often listen to these as I'm falling asleep. I purchased my first portable CD player about 3 years ago and finally wore it out. I replaced it, but the replacement stopped working within 2 weeks. I returned it to Best Buy for a replacement, which has been working fine for over a month. Best Buy's exchange was hassle-free, which is always much appreciated.

This has got to be the greatest portable cd player i have ever used. First off when you put in batteries it makes them last longer, even if it's batteries that last 2 hours it last more then that. And it's high quality it doesn't feel cheap like the jensen. Also the headphones you get sound incredible it sounds nice and clear and they don't feel that cheap the music sounds great with these headphones. Overall if you're looking for a decent portable cd player this is the one to get it won't disappoint.

This is about the 4th time I have purchased this model of CD player over the years. I know portable CD players seem old-fashioned now, but I have about 30 years worth of CDs, and it is easy to just put in a disc and go. Sound quality is decent, anti-skip protection is good. I eventually replace the headphones because they wear out. Hope they don't discontinue this product.

Let me say right off that for the money this little player is hard to beat. Unlike the competition the display on this player is large enough to be read easily. With the esp function on and 2500 ma NiMD batteries you get to hear 12 to 16 disc's before a low battery warning appears on the display. Unfortunately this function must be tied to error correction. I have several CD's that were loaned out and came back badly scratched that will not play on my PIONEER home player. On this little player with the esp function on they play just fine! Through my SENNHEISER phones the sound seems quit good. As mentioned by other reviewers this player has no memory resume. The good part of this is there is no battery drain to support this function. Also lacking is a random play repeat. You either get random play or repeat play, but for the price this is not a serious flaw. I've only had the player a couple of weeks so I can't really comment on durability, but at one fifth of the price of my last portable player I can afford to replace this player easily.

This little CD player has worked out great for me. I use it while on a 12 mile daily bike ride. Never skips, batteries seem to have a good life and is light weight. It's a little on the delicate side so if you're on the rough side you may use a little caution.

I got this little cd player to play on my commute on the bus, and to listen to audio books at work, since the rentals don't allow computer play without downloading extra stuff. It did not skip on my bumpy bus ride which was my big concern. Sound is surprisingly good.I'll want to stay on top of recharging my batteries, though, unless I find a good AC adapter.

I have a newer car and it does not have a CD player. Installing a permanent one wouldn't work and someone suggested a portable CD player. I bought this one and it works great in the car! I'm glad this solved the problem.

This is a good little cd player. Hard to find these now. This one does the job just fine.

Just what I needed, and at a price I could afford. Works great, has all the features that the more pricey ones offer, but at a lower price. Thanks, Best Buy!

GREAT CLEAR SOUND. WISH IT WOULD RETURN TO WHERE YOU LEFT OFF AFTER STIPPING. LIKE THE OAUSE FEATURE ON RIGHT SIDE OF CENTER BUTTON. CAN BE USED IN THE CAR WITH A CASETTE ADAPTER PKUGGED IN TO THE CIGARETTE/ACCESSORY AREA.

I recently bought a similar product from another manufacturer at a different large retailer and it never worked right. I was hesitant to try again, but I am pleased to report that this cd player has worked like a charm everytime I've turned it on. The sound is good. My only complaint is that the headphones are not adjustable. They were too small for my head and did not reach my ears. Luckily I had others that I can plug in and use.
