Besides being cheaply made and difficult to use (compared to my old, now defunct Sony Sports Walkman, no longer made) the dang thing would go back to the first track every time I powered down. That is a serious hassle if you are listing to a book... not recommend

I only tried one of these, but the unit that I bought had a very annoying hum or whine when it was reading CD's. I'm not talking about the usual motor sounds when the laser is being moved around, it was constant and high-pitched. Perhaps I just got a bad one, but I'm going to try a different brand. There are less expensive models from better brands out there.

i have purchased a couple of these i chose this particular one because it had features i wanted in a player (player with a hold feature and radio) . unfortunately it seems there are way too many bugs that haven't been worked out. i had 1 that would stop playing although the disc was spinning you could open the player and it did not recognize the door being open. i had another that the display turned upside down and backwards. i really have spent way too much time returning this device (under factory warranty- as it is a Best Buy made product) and am here to warn anyone else who is even thinking of buying this device- DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND $$$$

First day - batteries lasted 6 hours. Replaced them and it refused to play completely; all I got was an undefined error message. Complete junk.

This product worked great for the first 100 days, but won't play CD's anymore. It of course decided not to work anymore 10 days after the 90 day warranty ran out. If you buy this product, be sure to buy the extended 2 year warranty for $8.99, because you are going to need it!

Turns off as soon as you press the power button. Piece of trash.

VERY DISAPPOINTING unable to play my CDs!!!Tried/failed!

I bought the "OUT OF THE BOX" player and I added the repair insurance. The comment stated that there was nothing wrong with the player. Well whoever "tested" it did not check all of the features. You're supposed to be able to push the PLAY MODE button so that you can select FM MONO or FM STEREO. Pushing the button does NOTHING! Lots of static while attempting to locate a radio station. I'm hoping that it's just defective! I will attempt to purchase another one just in case.

I am very disappointed with this product. I bought it at the Best Buy store for $20.00 and it will only play the first song of my CD. I tried different CD's and it does the same thing! I see now it is listed for $34.99. DON'T BUY IT!!

I put a CD in it, and did not find song, I shout it off and started it up again, finally it found the first song, half way into song, it stopped for 10 seconds and then it started to play again.....again I restarted it and read "No CD"...I went to get another CD thinking it might be the CD itself, but the same thing happened again ...I am taking it back and exchanging it for another one, hopefully the next one will not be a lemon, for now I'd like to give it a big Zero but since there is no Zero I will give it a 1. I would not recommend it to anyone., hopefully the next one will work so that I can give it a better rating.

I was excited to try a portable CD player for when I am on the go, but this item does not work. The volume dial does nothing at all. The volume stayed the same no matter where I turned the dial. I even tried different headphones, but I could barely hear the cd I was listening to. The off button did not work at all. I had to open the device to get it to stop. It's going back!

I wish I hadn't bought this. And because I didn't keep the packaging, if I send it back, they will deduct from my refund. Don't be fooled. I am really disappointed. I bought this to replace an RCA that was junk. Can anyone think of a portable CD player that works?
