Love this ice maker, it's so fast! I bought it to have some ice when my fridge isn't working, and it works so much better than a fridge ice machine. A little annoying having to refill the water but it's nice I can put it anywhere. Overall a great ice maker and super convenient. Also will be nice to move it outside for parties or have that portable option any time.

This works if you have no other options. It does make ice and the cubes are of a good size.

I purchased this as a gift for my wife. She loves it. The ice comes out quickly, in 2 sizes, and is well ice. The ice maker in our fridge dies so we needed something. This has been fabulous!

It makes about 10lbs of ice in a day. You have to be on top of it, b/c it shuts off after the small bin is full- about every hour. Then you have to empty the ice into your freezer for storage. If you leave it and the machine shuts off, the ice will melt back into the water reservoir. This is why 24hrs of ice is not realistic unless you don’t sleep and just watch the ice bin... otherwise it’s a good little machine for the price.

this unit works like a charm. Our current refrig. ice maker is intermittent, and unreliable. we purchased this unit and ran it through a cleaning cycle. Then we set the unit up and let it run. It made a nice amount of ice, the auto feature of filling and completing a cycle until the water reservoir emptied. This unit is not large enough to supply a large party, but will help to keep some ice available.

It didn’t exceed my expectations, but it makes serviceable ice fast. You have to store ice in a freezer or it melts quickly. It is not big clear cubes but it is cold and as pure as the water you use to make it with. Shipping, unpacking, fits use all went great. I believe that Best Buy’s price was as good or better than comparable items. It is a bit noisy but not necessarily bothersome.

This is the 3rd ice maker. It is used daily and has met our needs. The first ice maker was replaced under Best Buy insurance. The second machine would register low on water when it was not. Buy the warranty

It needs to run all day and you need to keep it in your head to empty, but heck yea it produces Ice and fast. But be sure to get the protection, we had 2 of these go out in the 1st year, thank god for the Geeks who replaced it no hassle at all

Ice maker has delivered on all promises. I recently bought it and have used it multiple times now to fill up a cooler. The bin is a bit small so you have stay on top of storing the ice. I have easily filled up a medium sized cooler with the ice made from it in just more than a days time. Clean up has been easy, and stores easily in the box it came in.

My fridge icemachine stopped working so I got this Portable icemaker. My family love this machine because it makes ice fast and the smaller cubes are easier on the teeth. This portable icemaker requires no tubing, just pour water until it meets the water line.

Loud, noisy...but it makes ice so...cant complain. Decent item for price point.

There’s always a certain amount of risk associated with a product produced to do one thing. It tends to do it well, or it ends up a disappointment. This ice maker makes ice really well. It’s consistent and relatively simple to maintain. There hasn’t been any noticeable chemical or plastic taste and it produces ice at a it doesn’t store ice, but if your ice melts, it will be remade into more cubes. I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought this ice maker because the refrigerator in the apartment I live in doesn't have one. We obviously can't get a new fridge, so I was looking at a way to get some convenient ice. From there, I had this ice maker for <1 year and ended up returning it. During that time it worked well enough and made ice consistently. I put it on a smart outlet and the electricity cost for us came out to about $10/mo for 2 people with it running continuously which isn't bad. Note that when I say "continuously" I mean it's plugged in and on, but it will pause and not make ice when it becomes full. So why did I return it? During cleaning I kept noticing plastic flakes in the water reservoir. I thought it was mold, then took a Q tip to the area on the refrigerant tubes to swab it away and found it was some black material behind the chrome plating, and some chrome plating came off as well. Obviously having this in something you're consuming isn't an option, so it was a "whelp time to take it back" moment. It also sucks to clean. I'm not sure the intent of the design but there are so many nooks and crannies in the upper portion. If you could remove the "lid" where the electrical controls are it wouldn't be bad, but you can't. You've seen it in some other pictures uploaded by customers if you've taken a look. There are also areas that more or less are inaccessible, the tray that moves to fill with water has no real way to access behind it to clean. A cleaning cycle would also be a welcome addition, to get it to flow through the internal tubing and fill the tray with water to clean the refrigerant probes that come from the tubing you have to run it as if it's making ice. Would be nice if it had some sort of cycle to just run the pump without the compressor to chill the tubing, but it doesn't. Why 2 stars instead of one? It did function correctly for a while, and despite the flaws for the price did fulfill its role. So, here are my recomendations; 1. If you are intending to use this occasionally (parties, special events, etc...), drain, and clean it after it may fit that role fine. I would question if this is worth it instead of buying ice at the store; but thankfully it's your money and not mine. 2. If you are intending to use this continuously in lieu of an ice maker built into a refrigerator I would advise against it. It's inconvenient to clean, and ultimately I had the same case and the chrome plating didn't last. If for some reason you do want to get it anyway, I would at least advise you to buy the protection plan. All that being said returning this in store (with the protection plan) was very painless, so glass half full?
