makes ice quickly, cleans easily and is quiet when dumping ice

This icemaker performs well, and I would recommend it. However, like most ice makers, cleaning and maintence takes a conisderable amount of time. To really clean the icemaker, you have to unscrew roughly 8 screws to remove the top of the casing for access to clean. I feel like it was not designed as well as it could be.

I've had 3 portable ice makers before this one (not from Best Buy). They all failed miserably in the first 3-6 months. - This one works faster and has larger storage. I added the extended warranty just in case but so far Insignia products beat "other" big brand names hands down. Looking forward to more Insignia products in my home.

Used in our apartment as a way to have ice because the fridge ice maker doesn't work. Make ice pretty fast and holds enough for 2 people. Some of the "cubes" don't fully form is the only complaint.

Love that it has 2 sized cube settings and it's not too loud and makes them quickly.

Working great for about a month now. First cubes in about 10 minutes and seems to speed up from there. I typically run about 2 hours to fill a large container in my freezer and that is good for approximately a week for me. A little bit of noise from it, but not overly loud or distracting.

It’s good to buy this mini ice maker. I have a fresh ice to use every day instead of use ice in freezer with a lot of raw food. I work well until now after 3 months non-stop run. I like this ice maker.

As always, BestBuy House Brand Insignia offers affordable product alternatives to the much higher priced ones from the known brands. We recently got this Insignia portable ice maker at a very good price. After six weeks of using it at least twice a week, it seems to be doing its job. Only time will tell if it would last. Performance-wise, it is a bit slow. A minor annoyance is that the device often does not completely dump the newly-made ice onto the receiving tray. This fools the sensors into thinking that the tray is already full, thus pausing the production of new ice. We would have to visually check the tray every few minutes and manually scatter the ice to have them fully settle on the tray. The unit would then start producing ice again.

Does it make ice? Yes, in fact its pretty fast at making the ice and it is relatively easy to set up. However, every single week the ice starts to taste really bad, forcing me to clean out the ice maker. Wouldn't be a problem except the ice maker is too big for my kitchen sink.... They should add a water filter or something so that I do not have to haul this thing into my bath tub every week just to clean it out. Otherwise it is great at making ice. I just have to taste the ice everytime I use it to make sure its not bad ice.

Ice machine was quick and very convenient to use. After about 3 weeks of use, i turned it off for the weekend while we were out of town. Once back home i turned it on and filled it up with water and turned it on. It doesn't make ice anymore and i sont know why....

Hubby loves ice. Could never keep enough. This ice maker is the best. Easy to use hubby in wheelchair and he is able to get ice from counter when ice maker sits. Everyone who has come into our home wants to know about ice maker and where I got it. Of course it is Best Buy. Tks guys.

Absolutely love this machine! Makes ice in about 6-7 minutes. I use distilled water and it seems to work very well. I usually have the machine running all day and I haven't had any issues with it. It has a sensor as to when the basket is full so it doesn't overflow. I have this one at work but I plan on buying a second one for my home.

I like it very much, however, I would have liked the lid on top to be better so that the ice stayed longer. I use it daily, it seems to be a good ice maker for someone who uses it for small volumes.

Just like other Insignia products I've purchases, this exceeded my expectations. A great design and easy to use. After a few transfers to a bin in my freezer I'm set, but I let it run some more knowing that if I don't use the newly made ice right away it will just melt with the water being recycled. Glad that I choose this over a cheaper frigidaire one I saw sold somewhere else.

Bought this to get us through a period where our refrigerator went out and we were using a mini frig with no ice maker. It did the job, no complaints. We still use it when we need to supplement our ice production for special occasions.

My fiancée has been looking for an ice maker for a while. This one was worth the wait! Perfect size and color for his man cave. He was able to fit it right on top of his bar since It’s not heavy and so easy to move around. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for something that’s portable and not as big as a regular refrigerator freezer just to get ice.

I bought this ice machine for my camper. It works great. Above expectations!!
