The unit does not keep them cold so transfer to the freezer or use right away is necessary. Once the unit gets going the ice freezes harder and the ice seems to be made more quickly.

Yes it’s small but I work from home and I just start it and check on it through out the day and empty it when it’s full. Saved my husband $$ so he doesn’t have to buy ice for work.
