After you make the ice you have to put it a container and put in the freezer. If you leave the ice in while its on, the ice will last a short while but start to melt. If it's not on, the ice will start to melt right away. Overall I'm happy with this. It meets my needs.

The only drawback I have noticed is that since the ice cubes are wet, they will stick together if you put them in an ice bin in the freezer. Other than that, it does what I need.

First was replaced under warranty after less than a year. The second died from a different issue after 10 months. It worked fine while it worked, but the sensors for the ice full settings were inconsistent, and it was difficult to clean. Moved on to the Insignia nugget ice maker. Hoping for better results.

The only complaint would be the ice melts fairly quick. It doesn’t matter if your drinking water but if your drinking anything else, it’s a little irritating. I use bottle water or filter water in my maker.
