too slow! ice particles too small! not what I expected!

Don't do it. Choose something else. Noisy and cheap quality.

little over 6 months and stopped working..........

It Stopped generating ice. Complete waste of Money.

The Insignia Portable Ice Maker makes nine “bullets” of ice every 8 minutes. We ran it for around 12 hours when we first got it and it filled my LG Refidgerator Ice bin which hold 25lbs of ice. I find I have to refill the bin once a week so let the machine run for 6 hours or so to do so. The way the machine works you have to be present to empty the bin and fill the water when it gets low. If you don't empty the bin it will stop making ice once it fills up and the ice it has made will begin to melt, if left alone like i do sometimes overnight the ice in the bin will melt and once it melts enough the machine will start making more. This process will continue till the bin is emptied. If the water gets too low in the tub the machine will stop making ice and alert that more water needs to be added. There are two sizes, big and small, however I hardly notice any difference between the two. I just leave it on big all the time. The machine is kind of loud, it scares my anxiety ridden dog badly. Measured using an iPhone one foot away from the running machine the sound level was 61.0 dB(A), 4 feet away from the running machine the sound level is 51.6 dB(A), and 4 feet from the shut off machine the sound level is 46.0 dB(A)… It is a little louder than my LG dishwasher which was surprising to me. Would buy again.

This is my second Insignia Ice maker. I bought the first one probably 4-5 years ago and it finally ended. This one is compact and I think it's quieter

As someone who loves to chew ice with their drinks, I have been buying bags of ice from Chick-Fil-A for years. The GE Opal ice maker is nice and makes ice just like what you get at Chick-Fil-A, but it's also really expensive. So, I have been looking at other options. This was on sale for $50, so I gave it a shot. I have to say, I love it. If you love chewy ice, I recommend actually making this about 3 to 4 hours before you actually want ice. The best thing I have found is to let the ice sit for a while, it becomes perfect to chew on. Don't get me wrong, it's still nice when it first drops, but letting it sit for a while makes it perfect.

Definitely a very good product, it is very easy to use and very practical and makes ice very quickly and if it runs out it tells you to fill it with more water and continue producing more ice, when the ice bucket is full it automatically stops producing, it is great, I recommend it 100%

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and we both love it! The set up was super easy and within 10 minutes we had a handful of ice. I assumed the ice tray in the market would keep the ice frozen, but it doesn't. If you let the ice sit it just melts and makes new ice. This isn't an issue for us, we just dump the tray of ice into a bowl and put it in the freezer. The machine is not too loud and is relatively small which is great. We are both be very happy and impressed with this machine.

This ice maker works great and I love how easy it is to clean in between times I use it. The drain plug at the bottom is very easy to access and use to keep from having stale water stored in the unit. The ice maker immediately starts making the ice, once started, and takes a couple of hours to fill a gallon size ziplock that I store in my freezer.

I needed a good little icemaker for my in-home bar, which is separated from the kitchen and refrigerators icemaker. I want people to be able to easily have ice for cocktails without leaving the bar. I have to tell you I am really thrilled with the performance of the solar unit. It's easy to set up, and it really cranks out ice! When they say 9 pounds a day that is no lie. It's absolutely perfect and definitely the best price I've seen for some of this quality.

This thing works fabulous it makes ice so fast and it’s so easy the machine itself is not loud or any humming noise at all it’s just fabulous!

This little might was a snap to unpack and a start making ice! No fuss and all the enjoyment of a compact and super quick icemaker, that also looks great, too!

We got this ice maker because our Samsung refrigerator ice maker ices up and fails to make ice. This little machine makes nine pieces every 15 minutes. It's quiet enough that we often forget that it is running. One of the reviews was the fact that it does not keep the Ice Frozen, but that is easily resolved by placing a bucket in the freezer to dump the ice into after it is made. Had we known about the class action lawsuit against Samsung and their ice makers, we never would have stumbled upon this little gem of an ice maker.

We bought this to replace a Frigidaire ice maker that stopped working on us. This unit is slightly smaller than the Frigidaire, but it's also much quieter and seems to be better insulated (so we don't have to worry about removing the ice right after it's made). It makes ice just as advertised, with two different sizes to choose from.

Have been wanting to get this for awhile and finally picked up one today. It does just as it's supposed to. It's not too terribly loud and doesn't take up much counter space. Would highly recommend for the price!

Excellent ice maker for the price and for the size and amount of ice made. I love ice and this was a dream cone true!!! Thank you insignia!! Beats paying $400 for chewy ice when this does the same at much lesser price.
