It is the tub part that holds the water under the silver freezing tubes. When it’s off, I can only partially reach the tub to clean it and cannot find any information on how to disassemble it to clean it better. So I would say great purchase for 6-8 months and then it seems like you have to buy an entirely new one.

The only noise I hear is when it drops ice into the well and that is not a bad noise! The large setting ice cubes are not large, but large enough. I run it for about an hour and have enough ice for me for two days. I store the ice in a zip lock bag in the freezer. The ice does stick together, but breaks without much effort. For larger quantities as for a party I would fill more than one bag and store in the freezer. Thank t is not a freezer, so you have to store it in a freezer or it will melt. At first it seemed to take a lot of water to fill, but the water lasts for a few days before I have to refill it.

Machine is quite, and ice last a good time. Used if or a little party and it was plenty of ice for us all.

There is very little noise when it is running. Compact design makes it easy to move. Very happy with purchase!

It churns out ice in less than 10 minutes and is silent except for dumping of ice recycle end. Even then it is relatively quiet....I do not notice it unless standing by it.

The motor sound is louder than expected. Provides sufficient ice for our climate, about enough to serve 4 people. It takes longer than indicated to produce ice by about 5 minutes, but nothing serious. I do with it came with a place for the scooper that did not have to be submerged in the ice itself. But at $100, it solves the household craving for making slushes.
