Only other option is to buy a new door. Much cheaper to purchace a icemaker. Works great and I am extremely happy with how fast it makes ice cubes.

To me it is worth its weight in GOLD! I fill up once to make ice & the ice lasts a good while. Before Insignia Portable Icemaker, I was filling ice cube trays the moment they were frozen & refilling & refilling & refilling-on & on..... This has saved me so very much time!! We go thru a tremendous amount of ice cubes here & this incredible machine keeps us ahead of the game at all times!

These ice makers last about 6-8 months than they stop working. We are in our second one since April 2024 and this one just stopped working today - Black Friday after thanksgiving. Gonna have to return for third one.

I had purchased the same one last Christmas for my younger daughter they are both happy with this product. You are able to have ice on hand and it takes only minutes to have ice when u add water

Works Great - Only one problem

We store the ice in a 2 gallon freezer bag in the freezer and has made us a lot safer as we use to buy our ice at the quick stops. The only problem, and it is not really that bad is the drain plug. It is very hard to remove. We had to call support because we thought it was stuck at first, but you just have to pull very hard. As far as operation if you follow the cleaning procedure and run a few batches of ice and throw them out before using it, the ice turns out great.

I have to say that so far I'm impressed. We have used only purified distilled water and the ice is amazing, clear and no freezer taste. We no longer use the ice maker that the fridge has. Now we toss our insignia ice in the ice bin and enjoy the pure clean ice that it produces.
