Works great for about 1-1.5 years

Each one lasted around 1-1.5 years. On the plus side, it makes great soft ice that's easy to chew! The negative is the short life span and the ice it makes eventually melts in the holding basket since it's not cold enough to keep the ice frozen. This makes sense because the water it uses to make ice is below the ice basket. If it was cold enough to keep the ice frozen, then the water in the holding tank would freeze, too. If you're ok with these limitations and are willing to replace it every year, then it's worth it for the great, soft ice. But I'd recommend finding one more reliable, which is what we're going to do for our next one.

Every hour I have filed up quart bags and place in the freezer. Interesting to watch the machine at work.

Good Price But Ice Melts Quickly

Use it the day before you need ice or this will be on all day. Makes nine cubes at a time. Cubes are small. One drink at a time.
