Dont use muvh ice or small family? This works great! Good for 3 or 4 glasses.

When it makes the first batch of ice they're pretty tiny and see-thru. About the 3rd batch of ice, if you have it set to make the largest size it can, they're pretty well formed and a lot larger than the first batch. So I'd just dump the two tiny first batches back into the reservoir and wait for the larger ice to start dropping. So that's a bit of a pain that it has to work itself up to the large size ice cubes, but I could deal with it. Now this past month the ice machine started to get extremely loud and louder. I don't know why, so I need to take it in and have it looked at. We haven't even had it a year yet so I'm giving it only two stars. Because I'm tired of putting up with sub par gadgets just to have them break less than a year anyway. Just when I was starting to like the little machine too, disappointed. I wish I would've kept track of how many times I used it and how much ice was made each time.

I bought this portable Ice Maker, as I needed one for my office. It makes ice really fast, and it keeps the ice cold while it is in the basket. It makes a good quantity of ice, and it would be an absolute dream. The issue I have is the chemical taste that is present in the ice. We actually ran at least 5 cycles before we put it into regular circulation. We have tried multiple brands of bottled and filtered water, and the ice continues to have this awful chemical taste. It's a shame really, as it really makes ice efficiently.

Once you have one, there is no going back. Perfect for any occasion, and just the right size.

Purchased at a very reasonable Black Friday price of $90. My family likes our ice made from spring water, so the fridge machine just doesn’t cut it. However, we go through a $5 bag of ice weekly. This machine allows us to make the same amount for about a buck. So it will eventually pay for itself. Only downside is that the machine pauses when the tray is full, which is pretty small. So we have to periodically empty it for production to continue. Would prefer bigger batches.
