I did not buy the insurance which I regret. Overall this product is very, very good; although I thought it would have made it to 1 year of use. Overall the product was so good and practical that I purchased this one, with the insurance.

The first couple of batches through the machine (after cleaning per the instructions) were a little slow to get started. After a brief break in period, the machine seems to be functioning properly and making great ice. However, it's not consistent about shutting down in a timely fashion when the water level is too low.
