Customers are saying

Customers highly value the sound quality and bass produced by these powered computer speakers with subwoofer. Many appreciate the ease of use, the reasonable price, and the compact size. Positive comments also highlight the convenient volume control and headphone jack. While some users mentioned the power could be improved and the wire length to the subwoofer could be longer, the overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive.

    Just offensively awful

I've had these speakers for years now and I have hated them the entire time, but was too poor to replace them. The speakers from the early 2000s I had before them sounded better. I am finally about to replace these with the z313 of another brand and I pray that it goes better. I am writing this review just because of how much I've hated these speakers. I cannot believe the incredibly high rating on them on here. They have to be fake or from boomers or don't know any better. Thank god they've been discontinued. Farewell garbage speakers, I wont miss you.

    Beware

These look just like my Logitech speaker system AND THEY HAVE NO CONTROLS FOR ADJUSTING BASS AND TREBLE like my cheapy speakers have. So, you better like a LOT of bass cause you won't hear the high notes.

Don't Buy!!!! Broke after a half hour!!

Speakers were shipped to me with the left speaker broken. i found a loose wire inside and soldered it and it worked. The Speakers sounded distant at low volume once i fixed them. I set them up the day i got them and they worked for that day. Then i went to use them the next day and the other one stopped working for no reason. I will be trying to return them but i threw away the packaging so im sure they wont return my money.

    Not bad, but...

I did not expect much from these speakers. The main reason I do not like these speakers is because of the subwoofer. The bass is not there at all and its a big box for absolutely no reason. The sound is just very loud and I must add that the speakers crackle. Great for anyone just looking for speakers to watch videos online, not for people who want to listen to music or watch movies with quality sound. Cheap speakers equals low quality.

    Died in 6 weeks

Bought these speakers as a replacement for my 15 year old Altec Lansing's. Imagine my disappointment when they barely lasted 6 weeks? They had about 10 hours of use and totally died. I spend over a $1000 a year at bestbuy and called them about an exchange or credit. They stated that they have a 14 day return policy. To bad so sad. Don't waste your money. Insignia small electronics are JUNK! Go with Bose or another high end speaker. Remember, I told you so. If you buy these, you'll be less than happy.

    Computer Speakers worth $40

The speakers worked significantly for about 3 months. The sub woofer now outputs more vocal audio then bass. Besides that, they are worth $40.

    "Sucks"

Thought I would save money, and get these instead of the Bose $99 speakers. These speakers at low volume sound like the sound is coming from the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Perhaps ok if you listen at high volume, but i returned them and got the Bose. Given a choice between the 35 dollar Grand Canyons' the $99 dollar Bose, and the $250 dollar speakers this seems like a reasonable solution. Don't be misled by the reviews, you get what you pay for. The reviewers are right about the wires, no need for all these wirese for computer speakers.

I bought these speakers for my brand new laptop, just to have a better sound. I didn't expect anything exceptional. Unfortunately I didn't keep the receipt, because when I installed them I thought something was wrong with my computer but really the speakers were already broken and voices sound like underwater. Never again will I buy any Insignia product.

    Might have a faulty set

May have gotten a display set. Box was missing the tab that locks the top down and the speakers sound blown. Will be exchanging and trying a set in the store. I will update review if the new set sounds better.

Plugged them in to my new computer and had a continuous hum. Noise always there regardless of what I was doing and worse if I tried to listen to music. Had to return.

    Ok, but flawed

These speakers sound good at low to medium volume. However, there apparently isn't a block to stop the satellite speakers from trying to play the bass and so at higher volumes, everything becomes mush. I'm also getting static in the line and this after only having them a couple of months. All in all, I would not recommend this product.

I purchased the previous version of this Insignia product a year ago and immediately gave it great reviews. One of the treble speakers no longer works ......... so I have base and the left channel treble. Hopefully the new version is higher in reliability
