Something so trivial could make it a good product

A client wanted to watch TV late at night and not disturb their wife. I got these for them. Overall a good product. BUT it has RCA and optical inputs. And it can switch between the 2 with a small button on the headset (next to the volume) and by pressing a button at the top of the front of the base unit. When you are only using it for TV / 1 input, there's no need to ever switch between RCA and optical inputs. But the switch is right by the volume. A couple months go by, they use the product fine. And then call me saying there's no audio. Trying to troubleshoot over the phone, it took a bit to figure out that they must have bumped the input button on the headset and it was using the audio from the (unused) RCA input. They changed the input back to the optical input and everything is fine. Why not either have a way to disable 1 input / the switches if you are only using 1 input / have the circuitry monitor the inputs to not use / switch to the input with no audio. Tech is hard enough (how many remotes do you have on your coffee table. Why not build in some error checking.

Once I figured it out they connect consistently. The sound could be a little better, but adequate for the price point

Not sure if it the headphones or tv
