Small size for easy transport and also works well

The built in speaker of the KX3 faces downward and is sometimes hard to hear when operating and you may not always want to use headphones or ear buds. The Elecraft KX3 does not have enough audio power out to drive a non-amplified speaker. This little speaker does the job well.

The holiday sale on them is awesome and they’re not crazy expensive should the get broken, like dropping into the sink, which we have done. We have one for the beach, one at our camper and 3 in our house

I would say the sound on it is better then a Google Home Mini, it also had volume buttons on the side/top which is amazing and great for use! My reason for a 4 is just because the cord to charge is really small

Range is fairly wide and can be connected anywhere in a 2200 sq. ft home, including front and back yard. It met my needs for a low price.
