It would give power but not charge at all.

I apologize for the misinformation you received. Truth be told, there are so many different models of laptops on the market that we cannot guarantee that our adapter will work with every single one out there. In this case, surely the watts were not matching your machine.

This replaced my original adapter that was at least twice the size of it. This one travels a lot easier than the original one. Pricey, but worth it.
