The speakers weren't as good as the built in speakers in the macbook, and the volume knob was so stiff I had to hold down the speaker with one hand and turn the knob with the other. I've no problem with Insignia product, but these were cheaply manufactured and poor quality even for the standards of entry-level speakers.

But the headphone jack doesn't work. I've tried multiple pairs of headphones and the sound coming out of them is heavily distorted. To the degree that I can't use headphones through these speakers.
