Would recommend it if you need to be able to charge multiple brands of laptops easily and quickly. That said, this is an overkill replacement for an original brick and the manufacturer's brick will likely be cheaper. My only real complaint is that the shielding on the wiring from the brick to the laptop connector could be thicker for durability reasons
