The universal laptop charger charges the laptop, however, the tip that connects into the laptop is not a snug fit.

Needed this in a pinch while traveling, and it worked great for my HP Elitebook x360 G3. A little expensive in my opinion, but I guess it's because of all the different devices? But, anyway, happy overall.

I had lost the original charger to my Asus computer( just over a year old) so I had to buy this one. I went to multiple best buys but none sold the original charger so I was left to buy a universal one. I had asked for help to make sure that it was the right charger. It had been explained that the wattage for the charger should match the computer. The assistant that helped me did not seem confident in the compatibility so we took out the charger to make sure it at least worked. It did. Several days later, my computer just shut down and would not turn back on. I noticed that the charger was also not working . I took my computer to geek squad (in another state) and they informed me that my mother board had been fried and after further investigation, it was because of the universal charger I had just bought. Needless to say it would cost several hundred dollars to replace the motherboard and there was no guarantee that it would work the same or at all. This happened on a work trip and I needed a computer bad to teach my class the next day. I dropped 1200 on a new MacBook. Moral of the story; First-make sure you take into account of the wattage, Second-try to buy original and direct compatibility, at least when it comes to Asus computer. Third-Asus computers are extremely susceptible to little things like this. I must Praise the El Paso, TX geek squad manager for helping me out personally and being patient through the process. He was very empathetic and understanding. He even helped me out a little but give me some small discounts. While I don't think that is enough from Best Buy....from him, it was a grand gesture. I would not trust this charger nor will I buy ASUS again. I essentially lost over a thousand dollars because of this little debacle. Cheers.
