There are several connections to try. Mine is number 11 and sometimes it just comes apart. Really would prefer a one piece item.

Maybe because it comes with interchangeable adapter heads? I purchased this because my laptop stopped charging. The original charger actually stopped working but then realized the pin in the laptop broke off so I had to replace the pin. So I bought a cheaper charger and retuned this one.

Oddly enough, the charger cable that came with the laptop was not snug to the laptop, and this kept it from becoming fully charged. The guy in the Geek Squad section said this was a fairly common problem with some manufacturers. He recommended the Insignia Laptop Charger and that solved the problem.
