I started at 45% battery. I have a tendency to watch movies while I work. After listening to three movies, my battery was down to 41%. I put the laptop to sleep. Six hours later, I was down to 39%. So, it works to very much slow the decline of the battery, but it doesn't actually "charge" the battery. I thought about keeping it as an emergency, but... I'm going to return it. Best of luck
