And the only other issue is you have to look in the instructions to see which number is for the part instead of just labeling it HP Dell etc

There are a number of power adapters as well as a switch right behind the charger that allow it to replace just about any power charger need in existence. The only minor drawback is the instructions are not complete. True, you do get a basic explanation of how to set the voltage with a little insert that comes with the package, but in order to pin point your exact adapter need, you will need to visit the web site that came with the insert. Granted, if your laptop is out of juice, and you don't have access to the internet to see which adapter fits, you may find yourself in a trial and error situation. But all in all, once you get the right adapter you will be good to go.
