We bought this one to replace it, and after a separate but similar incident, the same thing happened again-- only this time, due to the way the charger is made, it snapped right at the tip and nothing was left connecting it. It snapped clean off in the port and we could not get it out. We were finally able to pierce a piece of the plastic with a very long and thin screw-driver head, and tug it out. It was horrible and I have no idea whether the port will still work or not. We're waiting on a replacement part to find out. The force applied by the incident this time was not even particularly intense-- the connection between the tip was very poorly-formed and unusually weak. My old laptop charger was much sturdier than this one.
