    I can’t tell you why HP went to a proprietary, laptop style power adapter for its desktops but in a desperate attempt to avoid $60+ I tried this, works great.

    We are so grateful to the Geek Squad as this is an older lap top that we needed to replace the power cord on and we were not sure we were going to be able to replace it.

    great adapter. only one it may not fit for me is my MSI gaming machine. fits my HP, Toshiba, Dells (oops fits my Compaq too)and seems to be very good quality!

    I went to Geek counter with broken computer. They looked at it and said all I needed was a new power source. Works like a charm. Did not need to buy a new computer!
