When I got home and plugged it in my laptop gave me a message that it was not the required wattage even though the package said it did. This item allowed me to use my computer while it was plugged in but it did not charge the battery and it also caused it to work very slow. I had to return the item.

It did say that I could call and order one and they would send it at no cost. I got online and ordered the exact charger for my computer at half the price on the Insignia and I did not pay a reduced price. This charger was recommended to me by an agent at Best Buy so you need to tell them that it does not work for all computers.

Inside there was a card with a website you could go to to get the exact tip needed for free, but the website no longer exists. Called manufacturer and was told tip on huge backorder.

I asked for the Dell replacement but was told that the Dell item was not available and that this item would do what I needed. I was disappointed when I plugged in the laptop that this adaptor/charger worked as an ac adaptor but did not charge the battery.
