Took it home, turns out it doesn’t work with my Asus, and when I called to ask if they could fulfill their guarantee of sending new tips that fit the laptop, they said it didn’t exist. I’m sure the product is fine if it works but it shouldn’t claim these kinds of guarantees if they aren’t true. Between that and the customer service reps from Insignia treating me like I didn’t know what I was talking about, I’ll be making sure I never buy from this brand.

I was able to provide power for the unit, but it would not charge. A bit disappointed, but it did help me through my situation. Sad it wouldn't charge.

Come to find out, the appropriate tip was not included and had to be ordered. Ordered new tip based on computer type and model, wasting another week, just to find that the tip does not fit the charger. Ridiculous waste of time and money. Should have done my research first as I would have found similar experiences and data that indicates that this charger will not charge some Dell products. Don't waste your time.

The web site to look up the tip that should fit my laptop was wrong and none of the provided tips fit. Ended up taking it back and got a Targus brand that was cheaper and the Targus universal had a tip that fit my laptop.

If you read closely it says for use on most lap tops and lists the types but there is no compatibility chart offered to check on specific model number of each laptop brand. It does not work on my Toshiba Satellite L55-A5299. By the time I found out the problem it was too late for a return.
