No need to ask if they can hear you. It picks up your voice very clearly. Only downside is a blue light on the power usb cord but it is near the pc and in the back so no big deal for me.

Great mic for the price! I would recommend if looking for a bargain.

The similar mic is expensive at stores. We have been using this for past 6 yrs. this is our 3rd one. We kids are very rough and they tangle the wire in the chair. We use it for an online skype class.
