It was a plug and play device so all I needed to do was plug it in and go. My in laws have a $65 dollar MIc that does the exact same thing...cant beat the price!!!!

However, I didn't realize that it didn't have the right hookup connectors for my camera and had to return it. Know what you need before you buy it! My fault!
