I was looking at a new laptop, the lightweight thin ones that don’t have an Ethernet port. Some of the PLC’s and Smart Relays, that I work with, require an Ethernet cable for programming and troubleshooting. I needed one of these so that I could move forward with purchasing a new laptop (through Best Buy of course) ;-)

Got this as a replacement for a bad mobo nic. It was for a user that is not the most tech savvy. Was able to tell them to plug into one of the same ports that looks like what there mouse is plugged into based on a picture from the user. No drivers needed and internet began working immediately. Good in a pinch. Can recommend and almost anyone could use it without technical experience. Better than adding in a PCIe replacement that requires the computer case to be opened.

It’s as simple as plugging in. It works without the need for any other software or updates of any sort. Just plug and play, it’s simple as that. I got it for my Surface Pro because it does not have a port for Ethernet and this adapter worked perfectly. Compact and light so it doesn’t add much weight to my laptop.
