||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Useful if you wish to add an extra USB 3 type A port to your existing number of ports on your desktop or laptop by taking up your type C port. It works, and a good value at the price I paid. But with today's tech, I'd rather have a Gen 2 version than a Gen 1 like this one is, because the Gen 2 would double your bandwidth/transfer speeds to 10 Gbps.

Needed for a new Mac!

A little expensive, but works!
