I use a larger thumb drive in conjunction with this to transfer data and movies to my iPad and tablet. No need for an external hard drive. Easy to pack too.

My husband likes to use the mouse. His new Chromebook came with the Type C port, so he needed an adapter in order to use his regular USB mouse. This was inexpensive and works well.

Needed this for my new MacBook Pro. Works great when transferring data. Must buy since the new Macs only accept type C adapters, unless you spend extra on all new external hard drives.

currently use Macs with USB-C ports both at home and at work. I have the Apple version of the adapter for hooking up my HDMI monitors that I would use between both locations.

If you still have older tech using USB Type A, you can now connect to newer laptops or devices using USB Type C. Though it's rated at USB 3.0 5Gbps transfer rate, it is the same as USB 3.1 (gen 1) speed. The price point is attractive too.

Whew. I was worried I'd have to pony up for a new docking station but this adapter works perfectly for changing my type A docking station port to type C for my new laptop.

It is a bummer that this piece is needed with the new Macbooks, but with that said, this piece makes life easier. It's only 10 bucks and does the job.

This was a no brainer for me with the usb c as the only ports on my new MacBook Pro. It allowed me to plug in my iPhone to charge and also allowed me to get other regular usb to plug in

This is a must have purchase if you are buying a new laptop. The plug-ins have been updated and you need this adapter to use a flash drive or other things like an older hard drive.

I purchased this when I purchased my new 2018 MacBook Air. It’s helped a lot with charging other devices while using the MacBook and I haven’t had any problems with it!

Recently purchased a 13in MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and Touch ID. Although this machine does not have your traditional USB-A ports, I found this item at a reasonable price. Works as expected.
