The new MacBooks don't have Ethernet jacks, in which I needed in order to connect to the network at my office. I bought this so that I could connect and everything worked. One thing I wish is that it could of been a little cheaper. It doesn't do much and the price I paid seemed a little steep.

After finishing some recommended instruction reading I got it right (I think).

The adapter fit just right and my computer no longer blacks out in the middle of the 3 hour class.

But this is a must have, especially if you need to use migration assistant to move data from older Mac to newer MacBook or tie newer MacBook into router, printer Ethernet ports.
