Jammed up my VCR where I had to unscrew the kid to surgically remove it

Could not get it to work in my magnavox DVD/VCR recorder/player. It would not rotate to clean the machine.

This VCR cleaner tape was broken, therefore I cannot review it as it never worked.

went through all my old tapes most didn't work they just needed some tlc and this was the perfect product to do so

not worth the money. use brand maxell instead. inferior

The tech working on my VCR informed me that the problems I was experiencing on my machine were caused by this type of product using liquid. Overall it is detrimental to a VCR and would eventually damage the heads.

Okay, so about a month ago, my VCR, which I use very, very heavily, stopped playing tapes and gave me this message saying "video heads may need cleaning." I didn't get around to addressing this issue until just recently when I ordered this VCR video head cleaner tape from Best Buy. I created an account just now so I could specifically tell people about it. It DOES seem to work. I seem to have a functioning VCR again. But here's the kicker, when I got this in the mail today, I thought the bottle of liquid head cleaner was frozen (it's a cold day) from being on the mailman's truck all day. But that's not the case. No matter what I did, I couldn't get this firm bottle of liquid cleaner to squeeze a single drop of my VCR's saving grace. I read one review from a guy who said "You have to snip the tip," well, that's not entirely true. What you have to do is get something thin and pointy, like the prong of a fork like I used and push it down through the hole of the head cleaner liquid bottle to free the VCR-fixing juice from its plastic prison. THAT got the liquid flowing. Otherwise, I had no idea what was going on with the liquid head cleaner bottle. But its sealed from the inside and requires a sharp object to open the hard way. Anyway, I dropped four or five drops of the liquid into the tape and ran it four times. A lot of reviews said to run it more than once. My heads have never been serviced so I ran it four times. Then when that was done, I popped in a tape I don't care too much about because I'd read some people had issues with their tapes being eaten and eureka! My tape started playing. I will try this with other tapes as the night goes on. I'm just glad I can watch my family home videos from decades ago again. So, in conclusion, this thing seems to work, it just has a confusing bottle of liquid head cleaner without proper instructions on how to get the liquid out of the bottle and into the cleaner tape. I hope this helps some people.

My VHS pictures were showing snowy & black/white. I bought a "dry technology " tape that did nothing. I bought this one because of great reviews. I saw an improvement at first, but not perfect. I did it again about 6 times over several days, plus played with the tracking and , voila, perfect picture. Saved me from having to convert my VHS tapes to DVD through a professional company!

I didn't actually use the cleaner yet but it reminded me to clean house and stop paying for costly repairs that took years. I can now finally watch my beloved Night Court tape. An excellent product.

It worked right away, I gave it an extra pass before trying the tapes. I’m pleased.
