they sound just as good as my google unit, controls are actually easier to use. no real downside except the instructions are a little too simplistic but at a price of less then 30.00 a swinging deal.

I picked this up on sale for $20, so really couldn't go wrong. But I was very pleasantly surprised. The Google Home Assistant works every bit as well as the original, the sound quality is great, and the clock built into the front makes it an ideal alarm clock, which is actually what I was looking for when I stumbled across this. I have ONE complaint that prevented me from giving it 5 stars. It has only one alarm tone which is quite soft, and cannot be changed. I sleep quite soundly, so really need something a bit louder in order to feel comfortable that it will wake me up. I hope this issue will be addressed in future upgrades. Aside from that one issue, I give this item 5 stars!

I got two of these over the holiday month. Overall, sound quality exceeded my expectations vs the Sony Xb20. Sound quality is way better than the Amazon Dot and the Sony Xb20 in my opinion. Pretty stoke that I can cast my music (via Amazon app) instead of connecting via Bluetooth. Had Bluetooth connectivity issues in the beginning but it seem to gone away, firmware update? Alexa is able to connect to it and control it which is a huge plus for many who have unlimited music via Amazon music. Haven't tried any of the Google Assist functions but is a big plus when I do get Smart accessories to play with. Can't wait to see what else I can do with it but in the mean time I'm just enjoying the music...

I begin and end my day speaking to this machine and asking it questions. It sets my appointments on my phone, adds to my shopping list, sets my alarm, lets me know whats on my schedule, tells me the news, plays my music. Don't Take my Google!

I picked it up for our main bathroom on Daily Deal for $25. Well worth the price for sound and connectivity. And the best part we actually have a clock we can see without picking up our phone!

I use my speaker for music mostly and the sound is amazing. I love that I can ask Google to play music from my Spotify account without having to get my phone or use my laptop. Just connect your apps. Easy set up. Great sound.

this speaker is more than it looks; also a google home device. item is built solidly and music just pours out somehow ... Clock feature is also a plus. I will purchase another unit for the other room.

I own 3 Google Home speakers and a Home Mini and this speaker functions just the same with better sound and even has a clock display which is something the Google branded speakers lack...

Decent sound from a little speaker and the wife absolutely loves it as she says that "Hey Google" understands her much better than Alexa and she likes the Google responses better, too. Even better to buy is super inexpensive on a great sale.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy this speaker/clock was to setup with the Google app. It looks really nice and the clock display is not too bright to keep me awake. The Google assistant also works well. Impressive sound for a small box.

Bought this device when it was cheaper than the google mini. It has in my opinion better sound quality than the mini and it displays the time! A definitely plus for me. Strongly recommended! Went ahead and bought multiple of these for each room!!

One fateful evening, my alarm clock died. Of course, that morning I was late for work! A new alarm clock was what I needed, though I wanted something a little better than the old hunk of junk that I had. This fit the bill perfectly. I can set alarms using only my voice, and wake up to the best of my pandora playlists. Along with music and alarms, it can tell me everything I need to know. Traffic, weather and even news. It's like a Google home, but shows the time as well. Great alarm clock, though the speaker quality could be much better. At it's off sale price, it's only $30 less than a google home, though sounds much worse than the home does. On sale however, it's a great value!

A nice little thing to have in any room in your house. Pick up voices pretty well and the speaker isn't too bad. The digital clock is a bonus! Essentially does everything the regular google assistant product does with just an added clock feature.

My teenagers and adult daughter al 4 love this speaker. They use it daily, multiple times throughout the day. It really is a great item to have on hand. They keep theirs in their bedrooms and talk to "Google" often with it and play their music.

First thing I tried was to set an alarm. Failed. As you may find in the reviews/forum, this is a common issue. It was also dropping off the wifi daily. Many many hours of research, and I was ready to return it. Contrary to Best Buy, it did not update its firmware overnight. Finally around day 5, it received new firmware, which fixed all the issues. Sound is very good, and Google Home is fun and useful. These are a bargain if you can get them for $25, and still a good deal at $50. If the current price is more, wait a bit. Just be patient for it to receive updated firmware. Btw, doing a factory reset does not make it update, as some have said.

Awesome alternative to the actual Google Home. Pretty much all the same features especially now that they have added the ability to make calls from it. And it is sooooo much cheaper.

I thought it was easy to set up. Easy to link to my Google account. I've had no issues with any of the voice recognition timers music or linking to my YouTube or Google play music.

Not a bad alternative to the Google Home. The speakers on this device are rather nice, a tad more bass-ier than the Google home and definitely worth the $39.99 Holiday sales price that I picked it up for. The only concern is that the microphone isn't as sensitive as the true Google products which means you have to speak up a tad bit louder but other than that it's a very comparable device. The pro is the embedded digital clock. Although it has the ability to flash the temperature on the display I find myself rarely looking at it when I am asking Google for the temp. If you can manage to get it on sale, especially for the less than $40 price, don't hesitate to get it.

I got this as part of an offer with a bullet blender. Was a great excuse to try Google Home, and I'm definitely keeping it around. Really nice and easy to use speaker, and the sound is solid.

I had never really been into the Google Home products because we are a mostly Apple family. BUT, I'm surprised at how much I LOVE this product! It keeps me from picking up my phone to google simple things, keeps me concentrated on tasks. Usually if I need to google something really quickly, I have to stop what I'm doing, find my phone, look it up, reply to the couple of new texts, check Snapchat, FB, and email, and end up wasting 30min without realizing it. Now, I shout across the room to my Google Home, it reads the answer aloud (unlike Siri), and my hands never leave the cutting board or whatever I'm doing. LOVE the convenience. I also love that I can walk into my home and ask it to start playing music; if I'm alone at home, it never feels like it. I'm already looking at buying another Google Home product for my workout area.
