Google is very limited in the companies associated with them. Would recommend Alexa.

When I purchased this smart speaker i noticed it had a lot of limitations compared to Alexa so I was disappointed as I had heard good things about google assistant then after 3 months the clock just stopped and I troubleshooted it and nothing worked ... won’t be buying this or anything similar to this .

I don’t understand how this thing has so many good reviews. BestBuy sent it to me for free, unannounced, and not on a promo just for free with an online order. I now know why- it would be amazing if it played music consistently, but it doesn’t. It just randomly stops playing music. It doesn’t matter the service, station, playlist, etc.

the speaker worked well only when plugged in. If it's battery was charged I could never tell. It did not function at all if was not plugged in. I could even turn the unit on. After about a week it ceased to work. Trying to contact Insignia, they told me to conact Best Buy. Best Buy told me ti contact Insignia. Piece of junk!

Like you'd expect out of a Google Assistant enabled speaker, setup is super easy. Simply plug in the speaker, download the Google Home app and follow the steps. It's super easy! In terms of quality, the speaker looks nice and the clock/temperature display is a great feature! For an alarm clock, this thing is perfect! The only thing I would say is a drawback on the alarm clock is the ability to change the alarm sound or use music but that's something Google controls and will hopefully address in a future software update. Unlike the Google Official speaker there is one limitation I found relating to the ability to make calls from the speaker.. again, I'm sure that's more a limitation imposed by Google than it is to this speaker. Outside of that so far it functions exactly like the original speaker from Google. Sound quality is pretty good with a good amount of volume though the only drawback would be that in my opinion the bass isn't quite as loud as other speakers similar to it. That said, it still sounded pretty good at loud volume and works perfectly as a speaker on my nightstand that replaced my good ole alarm clock. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it does have a USB charging port on it thought it is only 1amp so won't charge fast but is perfect for charging a device overnight. Overall, I'd recommend this speaker, especially if it's one you'd like to use in a small room or on a night stand which I've found it's perfect for.

Not really useful when it disconnects from the Wifi every other day. Also really slow to respond. The google assistant software is junk and everyone should feel bad for trying to push that on people. If you're going to spy on me then put a software spy that isn't a drooling idiot.

We noticed our wifi had become terribly glitchy and someonewas steaming off of our insignia and had made themselves a network on my dime. If You dont want people hacking into your services and leaching of your wifi, i would not recommend this. Or any voice activated portal to your lives. They Are listening.

Probably going back, will not stay connected to network even after it updated

The alarm will not let you adjust the sound and it is diffcult to update the firmware.

Not reliable, keeps loosing my WiFi. Need to send back. The other one is ok.

My expectation was high and I was disappointed after a few days.

Everything works good, and it's easy to set up, it just doesn't sound very good.

I thought this would nice to have in our bedroom. The thing did not work though. First of all, the alarm was never able to be set. M It kept saying please try again later or something like that. Second, It was connected to my wifi for a day or two but never connected to it again. Returned for refund.

This unit is the most "bedroom alarm clock" themed of any smart speakers I have tried out. This is my fourth google assistant smart speaker, and they're are getting easier and easier to setup. Need to use the Google Home smartphone app, and its a couple button presses and some light reading and that is it. Transferred all my settings (more precisely, assigned all my settings to this speaker from the cloud), including my voice profile. The sound is okay, good for a bedroom, goes fairly high before distortion. Can do all the things we want our Google Assistant to do, control smart home with registered devices, set alarms and timers per device we are talking to, play music per device or cast across all speakers, answer Google querries, check calendar. Pros: Can dim the clock pretty low in brightness. Black colored design blends in well and looks the most like an alarm clock of any google assistant speaker I've had. Has a 1 amp usb charging port for slower overnight charging. Its on the back below the microphone mute button. Cons: Temperature only displays for about 10 seconds after you ask Google what the temperature is. It is the outside temperature reported via the internet, and cannot show or keep showing the local temperature at the clock, i.e. there is no temperature sensor on the unit itself, I thought this was a bit misleading myself from the product presentation.

When I bought this I thought it would be taller and larger, useless!

I didn’t like this.I was not crazy about it.I returned.

It’s a pain to be saying ok goggle every time.!!!!

It's only good as long as you are connected to WiFi
