Customers are delighted by the Voice™ Smart Bluetooth Speaker and Alarm Clock with Google Assistant's superb sound quality and the convenience of its built-in Google Assistant. Many appreciate its ease of use, compact size, and the fact that it functions well as an alarm clock. Poor Compatibility with multiple Google Homes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in an apartment with 2 google mini's (one in living room and other in kitchen). The insignia is in my bedroom. I will be literally 4 feet from the mini in my living room and the insignia will answer despite being 35 feet away. I don't feel that the speaker is picking up my command, but more-so that the integration with the other devices is awful...sending the response out of the insignia for some reason at times. The best resolution has been to mute the speaker mic, which nullifies the allure of the speaker altogether. The mini's were working great until I added this speaker. Another issue that began yesterday..."Play the sound of rain" no longer works. The sound cuts in and out. I reset and restored the speaker, re-added to wifi, and it still screws up. Oddly, when I play white noise or Spotify, it works flawlessly. As someone who has really had a good experience with the minis, I'm ready to unplug this speaker. The volume is great and everything would be fine without a network of other devices, but they just don't play well together. The QA was a miss from Insignia and Google here. Updates need to come more frequently.

Great Buy for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have both models, and I am favoring the small (no battery) one for the sound. They both have stereo sound but the one with battery has a subwoofer beside the 2 speakers, and it seems to muddy the sound sometimes (not a deal breaker). They both are able to make phone calls and scores of other things. Great built quality, not cheap feeling by no means. I will give it 5 stars when the software is updated with features like sending texts, and emails.

Great concept, lackluster support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: It's great to have a visible clock along with a smart speaker. Sound is good. Price is good. Cons: it's buggy and in desperate need to a firmware upgrade. Playback of white noise stutters and pauses, while my GH mini on the same network did just fine. Most notably is the fact that Google assistant's routines will NOT work on this device.

Product works good Finish a little lacking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have given this product 5 stars but I felt the finish on the plastic where the led's and controls are looked more like a matte finish. In other words the numbers and controls look fuzzy. In all fairness the picture that is with the product description looks fuzzy as well (I noticed this after my purchase). Other than that it seems to work well,

Great value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great value at discount and generally works well as expected.but.. has been 1 minute fast for a while... It's the correct time zone. It's been reset as it occasional loses Wi-Fi as people have commented. But generally it works well and is worth the discounted price. The led could dim further as its still bright for a night clock.

Very Buggy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this Insignia speaker in my bathroom, but I have other Google Home speakers in other places in my house. With the other Google Home speakers, they can determine which device is closest to answer. If the Insignia hears the question, it will answer even if I'm much closer to the other Google Home speakers. This is frustrating because I often cannot hear its response if I'm in a different room. This only happens with the Insignia and not the other Google Home speakers. Also, the Insignia has performance problems. If cannot stream music when there are multiple conversations going on around it. I recently had several people talking near it while it was playing music, and the music became very scratchy while the Insignia was doing voice detection. As soon as everyone stopped talking, the music went back to normal. Finally, it's frustrating that it has a built-in display for temperature, but it doesn't display it unless you use voice to ask. It seems that most or all of these problems could be fixed with software updates, so I'm hoping to update my review if Insignia fixes these bugs.

Don't waste your money
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, couldn’t wait to use this speaker. Google assistant built in a plus. But I was very disappointed. It would not connect to google home at all. I tried multiple times using two different note 8 and it will say connecting and never connect through wi-fi. It did connect through Bluetooth but through the google home app it wouldn’t work. So to say the least it’s just another Bluetooth speaker. Sound quality not the best. Compact, digital screen, otherwise sadly not a contender with just Bluetooth capability. Would have loved to test out the google assistant.

Does not 'play well' with Amazon Dot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this per reviews of good sound quality and was on sale. Yes the sound is great for a small and inexpensive [on sale] unit. Cons: 1, If you connect as a Bluetooth speaker to a Dot and the dot is connected to wifi using 5gh it will drop every 3 seconds, so switched to 2.4gh and no dropping. 2, When connected to dot on 2.4gh, giving a command to Alexa experienced an almost 2 minute delay, Ask what time it is and 2 minutes later get the response of what the time was 2 minutes ago. As to play a song and 2 minutes later it starts. I have no idea why. If you intend to use as a quality bluetooth speaker connected to a dot, and be able to use Google as well, --- good luck. I returned.

Paperweight
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is decent for the price. That’s the only positive thing I have to say about this product. The version of Google Assistant this thing comes with is VERY old and buggy (mine is stuck at version 105, the current version available is 314). Lots of errors while giving commands, no calling, no routines, no continued conversation, no broadcast capability. The worst part is there is no way to update the firmware to a version of Google Assistant that works properly. The support people at Insignia are not helpful. They say the product will update automatically - it doesn’t. I’ve had mine for almost two weeks and it’s still on the same years old, useless firmware it was on the day I got it. Stay away.

Piece of Junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 3 of these at sale price at bestbuy for 49.99. First one had all ready been op-ed and returned, and magically ended back on shelf. 2nd one did nothing at all. I was on tech support for an hour. 3rd one and 3 hours wasted and it can't hear me if you play it past 60. If you wave your hand over it The volume go to 20 for 3 sec and then back where it was. Seems useless feature. The temperature never showed up on any of them no matter how I asked the dam thing. Also it does not have the latest firmware update. Insignia is a best buy brand and they out to keep up on this. The up to date version includes the ability to tweak audio and certain other things. I would definatly pass considering they have gone up in price in the last week. Only gave it one star because customer support although not being able to help was very nice and did try.
