Piece of junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound from this speaker is okay at best, the base is horrible. The mics on it are horrible as well. What to use it once music is already playing? It won't hear you. Want to use it in living room when the TV is on? It won't hear you. Want to use it when you're in the bathroom when the shower is on? It won't hear you. Basically you must be in an absolutely silent room for it to hear you. It's ridiculous. Also, it will basically never display the temperature either. It's a piece of junk. Spend the extra money and get the one by Google.

Google Assistant is great, but awful alarm clock
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for a bedroom alarm clock. Kind of a cool idea to mix that with Google Home...but then I tried to set it up. The clock is controlled by your wifi/smartphone app. For some reason it won't set the correct time if you live in Arizona, so I have to change my phone settings to get the correct time synced to the clock. Not only that, but any time our wireless signal restarts or goes off, I have to completely re-setup the Insignia, changing my phone's date and time setting back and forth each time. It's extremely annoying to have to do this when you're about to go to bed. Also, google assistant won't work if the wifi signal goes off, so if you reboot the router or your power goes off, you're looking at a 10 minute setup process for this stupid device. So this is next to our bed, but the blue light is incredibly bright. We have lost sleep, we have stuck dimming sheets over the clock face. Why couldn't they have added a dimming feature? This thing only has one real button, and that's to turn the mic on and off. I've also found the bluetooth feature difficult to use. You have to press two fingers on the top of the clock to start bt sync, which for some reason is a feat of prestidigitation that I can't manage half the time. I don't know how clear I've been, but in my experience this device has really been a piece of crap--which is really quite rare these days. I guess I'm gonna put it on ebay and buy a regular alarm clock and an echo dot. I wouldn't recommend this product to my worst enemy. The price of this thing has been plummeting, and it's easy to see why.

mine was dropped on its head when it was young
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took four days before it would set a alarm; I spent a hour or so with google trouble shooting online for this brand new unit. And everyday I would walk by my expensive paperweight and ask it to set a alarm, One day it finally said that it was set. So then I asked it, " how long does it take to hard boil a egg?" and it told me to use the app on my phone. Oh My! I went up stairs and asked Alexa and Boom she set me straight on cooking eggs. My echo dot that I bought for 1/3rd the price is easer to use and apparently a lot smarter. So if you like arguing with stuff feel free to purchase this unit

If it worked as good as it looks....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 2 of the 'other' TAP speakers and they are easy to use. This was difficult to set up, had to try at least 4 times. Finally got a complete setup message. Tried to set an alarm, it said it set it, then it said there was a problem, but turned the "AL" light on. Alarm never went off. The temperature displayed is off by 10 degrees. The clock did work. My TAP device works so much better and I can control my TP-link lights, where this thing doesn't.

Does not support routines
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds fine, better than the home mini. But you can't do routines (like"goodnight") through it all it is kinda pointless for a bedroom speaker.

Terrible product - wifi does not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product on ebay-bestbuy last week based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on this site. I bought a google home mini in December and have enjoyed using it, so thought this would be a great second speaker for my bedroom. It's not. I submitted a review on ebay as well, but it was not displaying, so I'm reviewing here to hopefully add some helpful criticism for anyone else purchasing it. This speaker must have the wifi antenna in a poor location or just a weak antenna. I am unable to get it to connect to the internet, unless it is about 15 feet away from the wifi router. I use a TP-Link Archer C2 AC750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router IEEE 802.11ac/n/a. This router provides signal throughout my home. I set this up in two locations and it did not work in either places. The google home mini worked in both of the places. I tried putting it on the shelf right next to my google home mini and the only response I got was "there was a glitch" or "something went wrong." I am unable to use this in my bedroom for an alarm clock as planned. Based on this experience, I would not recommend anyone purchase it. Stick with a google home mini.

Don't waste your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing works on these things! I bought two. Can't set an alarm, temperature doesn't show up on display, I called and the person I talked with said ALL the units are experiencing and issue so even if I tried to exchange it, any replacements would have the same issues. No wonder they were marked down to $20 from $100.

Alarm clock stopped working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sadly, after the most firmware update, the alarm function no longer works. This was a wonderful speaker. Unfortunately, the function we use it for most no longer works. Not worth $100
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this speaker for less than fourty and now it is selling for almost a hundred. The reviews are based on the lower price so it may be misleading.

Thought it displayed weather too
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because the picture show showed that it displayed the weather too. The box says it does, but came with no directions and it doesn't display the weather. That was the whole reason i purchased it. So really disappointed there's no information on it displaying the weather. Other than that, it works great. If you want it to play a specific song you have to have premium spotify and YouTube apparently though

Not in sell-able condition
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy and Insignia shouldn't be selling a product without the updated firmware needed. This product ships with version 105, which doesn't allow you to use several functions of Google Assistant including setting an alarm. Some purchasers have had luck with this product auto updating the firmware, but some like myself have not. I contacted Insignia technical support directly and asked if there was a manual way to push the firmware to the device. They said they were receiving "many calls" regarding this issue but that they did not have a solution. It seems like Insignia is not aware of how to fix an issue with their own product. I also purchased the larger, more expensive version of this product. Although it shipped with the old firmware, once I did a factory reset, the new firmware installed and it is now a fully functional product. This smaller speaker could be the same, but unfortunately, Insignia doesn't have the level of competence to resolve an issue staring them in the face. Furthermore, Best Buy is knowingly selling a product that is not operational, which opens them up to legal liability. Very disappointing.

Music alarm set for weekdays. Some days it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks nice. Sounds great when it works. Music alarm set for weekdays. Some days it works properly. Other days it blinks, but no alarm or music. Worthless as an alarm clock - which is why I purchased it. In addition, with some requests, although responded properly, there is no answer.

No tech support from Google or Best Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Bought this speaker and ran into problems during setup. I got this error message: "There was a problem setting up Insignia NS-CSPGASP." I clicked on the Help button and it took me to Google tech support. When they found out is was an Insignia device they said they could not help me and told me to go to Best Buy for support. I went to the Best Buy support forums and there are many other people with the same problem. This is what Best Buy has to say: "Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We are aware of this issue and have reached out to our Insignia engineers to request additional information regarding these errors. Although we do not have an estimated timeframe for a resolution, we will be sure to keep you updated here with any news that comes our way. This is unacceptable! This speaker is going back to the store. Don't buy this. They should have never released this. They shouldn't be selling things that don't work and they don't a clue about how to fix them.

No Temperature Display
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one of these and it worked just fine other than the temperature would not display, returned and got another one and same problem, Geek Squad at the store or at the 800 number couldn't help, they had no idea why the temperature did not display so I guess I will return this and get something else.

Posted .Hi there,
Thank you for trying our Insignia Voice Smart Bluetooth Speaker with Google Voice Assistant, regarding your comments about the temperature display I want to explain that the temperature will display and update upon your request and will appear on the display for 4 seconds. As we take our customers feedback into consideration we are already working on lengthening that time, but since the display is also used for other functions, the temperature will not display continually by now.

Clock radio but little google home functionality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had high hopes but after a week of frustration, it is going back. Unit will not update the firmware no matter how many attempts. What it can do. You can ask Google questions but you can't tell it to do any of the following: Set alarm Enable routines I think a mini is much better.

Doesn't Work - Non-Functioning Alarm Clock
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alarm won't set - comes back with 'there was a glitch' but the alarm icon is active. It's an alarm clock with a non-functioning alarm, neat. Can't view temperature either, manual says it should. Software on product won't update - been left on overnight with no success. Not worth it.
