Compared with 2nd gen Amazon Echo (the small hockey puck), this unit has better sound. However, it has a hard time recognizing voice commands when the music is above middle volume. One odd user interface issue: Say Hey Google, set volume 5 and the display shows 50.

The best thing about this speaker is sound quality. A lot of other reviews claimed this to have bad sound but it is really loud with decent bass. Not sure how good it is at finding desired music genres though. It serves it purpose and i can't complain since it was a free addon item.

This assistant works just like the Google mini or home, but it is far less expensive. It has a clock display, so it can work as an alarm clock when you set up alarms on your phone. The sound is decent. You can now use Google Home app to link two units for stereo, or in different rooms to stream the same thing for full-house sound.

The mobility feature is great as it allows you to take the speaker with you on picnics, beach or just the back yard. If you have a music on a Bluetooth device, you can play it over the speaker. While many speakers have this capability, this one can do a multitude of tasks when connected to wifi. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

I was all set to be blown away after reading all the reviews. Sadly, the real thing didn't quite measure up. I used it to replace a Google Home Mini and for sure music played on this speaker is much better than the Mini. But I have trouble getting Google to hear me correctly.

This speaker works great and syncs to your Google Home. The only downsides are that sometimes it does not pick up your voice when you talk to it, and it tends to randomly lose network connectivity. This doesn't happen too often but it is frustrating when it happens.

Started with my sister purchasing one and once I saw it I knew I had to have it. Liked mine so well I have purchased 9 of them for Christmas...yes I said 9! Love having it set my alarm, asking questions, playing music and a few other things. Easy readout to see day or night. Would highly recommend this to all my family and friends.

Speaker sounds really good and the google assistant is great.

This smart speaker is powered by Google Assistant. It has good sound and performs like a Google Home except this Insignia model is unable to make phone calls. Also, the Google Home app has a feature to dim the speaker's display at night, but that feature does not work.

My daughters have this and I wondered if it would work for me too. I bought one when the price dropped and though I'm still learning how to communicate with it, I was able to, even when I lost my voice, via the app! I'm wanting a second one for my second floor now!

After having this for over a year I can finally give a solid review. I have at home google home minis, hub, and the first "air freshener" design. I always wanted a simple time display, this Insignia clock was it. However I noticed when the internet would go out or signal would fluctuate the Insignia would completely disconnect while the other Google home devices stayed on and functioned w/o a problem. Then to get the Insignia again I had to either unplug it or reconnect manually w the Google app, either way it was an annoying process each time. So, this Insignia clock is very sensitive and can get easily disconnected if your wifi fluctuates. The other problem is the mics aren't as sensitive as the other Google devices. Sometimes I would have to repeat myself or talk louder so it could hear me. Otherwise it;s been a good solid product!

I was looking for a new alarm clock, saw this on sale and picked it up. If you only want or need an alarm clock the it's probably safe to tell you to stop right now. Functioning solely as an alarm clock this thing is just 'meh.' You can't set your time faster then it is. Setting an alarm that recurs say every morning at 6 is tricky. The alert tone can't be changed without jumping through some annoying hoops. The snooze function is just a little too complex for my sleepy mind to deal with and I keep turning off the alarm early. If you look at this as a cheaper, slightly more useful Google Home then yes, it is. It has a clock display. It will show you the weather in degrees when you ask it for weather. It can be a target to cast music to. Mine has a handy USB port in the back to charge other devices. All in all it's worth it, for the right price. Just don't buy it thinking that it'll replace your alarm clock.

Good sound and excellent price. No complaints at all.

Not something i thought i would want, but i wanted an alarm clock. It is nice that if the power goes out it syncs up to the internet to set the time itself. I can get in bed and say set an alarm for 7:30AM and not have to manually set it. I can also adjust the brightness of the clock. I purchased 2 more for christmas gifts.

I really love this device because not only does it function as a bluetooth speaker, but it even works as a standalone device that can access your spotify, google music, and any smart devices in your home. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great quality speaker or something to control their smart home devices.

My wife wanted a clock radio in the bathroom of our new house and our old clock radio wouldn't work as it is an under cabinet mount and we have no cabinets. This radio was on sale and we are so glad we gave it a try. Very simpe, not that large, fits great on the bathroom counter, plays pandora and tells the time with a glance. Very happy.
