Pros: Use the same software as google home, but better sound quality/volume. Cons: No voice call. Another issue is when an alarm is ringing, I'm having a hard time to ask it stop since it doesn't read my "ok google" command because the alarm itself is too loud. My google home doesn't have this issue.

The speaker is better and voice recognition seems better. It would be nice if you could turn on a ding to acknowledge that it heard you say OK Google. There is no positive feedback. The temperature also doesn't always display. It only shows up when you ask what the weather is. Not really that useful.

The speaker has a good a volume and it's somewhat easy to pair with your phone and start using it. Only reason for a 4 star and not 5 is because it is not portable. This was a gift, but if it wasn't for that, I would be exchanging it for a portable one instead. In my opinion, that's the reason to buy a BT speaker.

This unit blows the sound quality of the official Google Home away, and has a bonus clock display. I use one in the bedroom as my alarm clock. The only trouble is the mic range is too good; sometimes I'll be two rooms away and it will pick up my voice instead of the Home Mini I have in that room.

The sound is better than then google home mini and probably about on par with the regular google home. it has all the same features as any google home BUT you can't make outgoing calls with it. I'm not sure it'll ever be updated to do so. I like the always on clock. This has replaced my LED clock in my bedroom.

I'm a Google Assistant user. I have a few Home Minis around the house. This is a better option fir a bedroom. Use it as an alarm clock, a white noise machine, casual music listening, playing podcasts and of course controlling smart home devices. Easy setup and great price when on sale.

Got this as a bedside speaker because of the clock. Works just as well as my other Google home products. The speaker is good, not great...but I wasnt looking for that. If you don't want to pay for the regular Google home and a mini is too small, I would recommend the Insignia speaker.

This speaker is pretty SMALL (unlike its upgraded version) and works great for a nightstand or desk. I've noticed that the longer I used the speaker the more it gets better with the commands it can do. I feel the sound quality is okay but not as great as the upgraded version to this speaker. I purchased the larger version to this speaker and placed it in my living room and made a speaker group, and so I play music from both speakers at the same time. You can also make phone calls using google voice, but you cannot receive phone calls. I have an iPhone and so I believe android phones will allow the google assistant to perform more actions regarding text messages. The temperature display only lasts for about a minute or so once you ask google the temperature. Since I have the larger upgraded version to this speaker, I was a little disappointed when this small speaker didn't do the same commands like perform routines I set in the app, make phone calls, or display the temperature. But I guess as the speaker updated over time (like a few days) it can do everything any google home assistant is allowed to do. Be aware this speaker is not rechargeable, so once you disconnect it from the power cord, it will shut off.

I was very satisfied with this smart speaker. It cost less than a google mini or echo dot and has better sound than the dot. The only negative is the brightness of the display which is brighter than my old alarm clock. I also bought two of them and gave one away as a Christmas gift.

So this is a great product , the google assistant works fine so do the speakers. However the temperature only displays the outside temp for 5 seconds after you ask google the temperature. This is misleading as the product makes you believe it will show indoor temperature all the time.

Why the Google Home never came with simple things like a visible clock and visible volume level is a mystery to me. Evidently it was to the folks over at Insignia too, since their Smart Speaker has both of these cool features built-in. It's nice to have a smart speaker that works really nicely on the bedside table! Set an alarm? Sure. Play some music with a sleep timer? Done. What's on the agenda for tomorrow? Covered. Now, the question is... why didn't I give this device 5 stars? The answer is actually quite simple. The version of the Google Assistant defines the capabilities of the Google Assistant. And the version of the Google Assistant in this smart speaker does not keep pace with the version of the Google Assistant in the Google Home. So while your Insignia Smart Speaker may not have access to all the very latest commands and features, it still does a very capable job and has become a fixture in my home. It's entirely possible I may buy another one for the teenager.

I bought this for a nightstand alarm clock. It's fantastic. Google Assistant is amazing and this is brilliant. It was hard to setup with my Google Pixel 2 XL, but setup fine with my iPad Pro. My only compliant about this is that I wish the clock display had a dimmer switch. Otherwise this is a great sounding speaker with Google Assistant and I love it.

The buttons were wearing out on my 30 (!) year old alarm clock, so I got this one on a Deal of the Day for $25. Has great sound, and great to verbally set the alarm. Only difficulty was the initial connection, which took many attempts to complete. Otherwise I'm glad I bought it.

This was a gift for my nephew, at the time that he see how his cellphone pairs with the bluetooth and start to listen music, hear videos or command some tasks to the google assistant, he was amaze, so for the day to day use (listen music, take notes, give some info)is a very good assitance clock, highly recommended

Saw this deal and thought I would try it. It is absolutely a great deal. Works as well as the original google home that I purchased before but includes a clock which is very handy for me. Also much easier to adjust volume with -/+ keys on the top. Plugged it in and it connected to my wifi right away. This is the second one that I bought.

Bought this on sale to use as a bed room clock with the benefit of a voice assistant as a nice perk and I am very pleased. As a bedroom clock its great because I can use the Google assistant to set alarms and ask the weather while also using it to control my bed room lights and thermostat. The clock is dimable so it doesn't bother me as a clock but is still easy to see during the day. I will be buying one for my parents for Christmas.

We now have 3 of these in our home, along with one Google Home Mini. I like being able to broadcast a message to everyone within range of one of the speakers. The Insignia has better sound than the Google Home Mini and I like having the clock display on my nightstand. It's great for listening to music on my Google Music playlist or Pandora.

The lowest price I have seen for this smart speaker with Google Assistant is $20.00 and that is a bargain. It was surprisingly easy to set up on our Wi-Fi and the digital clock is a bonus on our nightstand, not too bright but easy to see day and night. Streaming music is easy and the speaker sounds good. Very happy with this purchase!

I don't know what it was like not being able to (unlike a crazy person) say, "Hey, Google...what's the weather?" and get an answer. The humidity tomorrow? No problem. Play games...like MadLibs, etc...very fun. The sound is good...the bass is surprising. The surface on which you place the device helps with the reverberation of sound, like the bass. It's nice to have the time shown, the ability to control devices that are Google Voice enabled, it continues to learn new functions/phrases and I can ask it, "Hey Google, what's the weather/humidity/when is it going to rain next?" and the information is kept updated. I feel almost lost without it...the one thing for which I would wish is a little more treble. But the price and features make up for it in kind. Enjoy!
