L O V E. IT!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first smart home device! I love it! I use it daily. Just by speaking I can add things to my calendar, set an alarm, set reminders, set a shopping list, have it read my plans for the day, read me the news, ask it will it rain, ask where a particular movie is playing, etc etc. I have it play the sound of a brook for when I am sleeping. I bought a smart plug for my bedroom lamp (by Belkin WeMo) which synced perfectly so all I have to say is "Hey Google, turn off the light" (or turn on the light). I had to change the "nickname' from Wemo to "light" so I could say turn of light vs turn off Wemo. Now I don't have to walk in the dark and feel for my lamp in order to turn it on. Lol. The speaker looks nice as well! This model does not have a recharable battery, which is fine for me since I won't need to take it from room to room. I did not buy it for music playing, which sounds pretty nice, but don't expect Bose...it's not that, but it's way better then your cell phone playing music that's for sure! I bought it for convenience of turning on my light and enjoying the features of the smart speaker. I'm so happy with it. I got it for a great sale price as a Deal of the Day promotion. I bought one for my daughter for her home and I bought an extra...for "just in case". Lol. Oh, and for those that do not have internet at home and just hot spot on your cell, you can use it thru hotspot. You need 2 devices, 1 being your cell and the other a iPad or tablet. Download foxfi and the foxfi pda net apps to your cell. Turn on the "Wi-Fi hotspot" on your cell from foxfi. Use foxfi as your WiFi. On your cell turn on your hot spot from your carrier. Download the goggle home app to your iPad or tablet. Sync up the speaker and set it up thru your iPad or tablet using the Goggle Home app. On foxfi make sure to set the timer to none so your WiFi hotspot doesn't time out. It works great! I turn off my carrier hot spot when I leave the house. I turn it back on when I get home. The only thing is that you do need to wait a few mins for it to sync back up. I can't justify paying for internet since I have unlimited data and hotspot. Using just my cell meets my needs for now. However if I ever decide to expand on more home smart devices, I will have to bite the bullet. But as for now, it's not necessary. Most people have internet at home so setup will be breezy. This great speaker is a VERY nice alternative to Goggle Home. As of now (March 2018), this Insignia Voice Speaker does not make calls, send or read texts, but I did read somewhere that they are working on that now...so in the future it won't be an issue. As of now, the Goggle Home device does do that. I got mine at such a great price, it was worth buying. At regular price tho I would have most likely went with Goggle Home since it would be just a few bucks more.

Great speaker/alarm clock w/Google Assistant
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a Google Home, multiple Google Home minis, six of the larger version of this speaker (NS-CSPGASP2) and two of this smaller version (NS-CSPGASP-B). I was able to purchase the large version for $40 and the smaller version for $25. Here is my review: The larger speaker (NS-CSPGASP2 - NOT THIS ONE) is very comparable to the sound of the Google Home and has almost the same functionality. The Google Home has just slightly cleaner, more accurate sound but the larger version of this speaker is louder and has more bass. They both have Google Assistant but I believe the only thing the larger speaker doesn't currently support is phone calls but I imagine that will come in a future software update. For the money I definitely recommend the larger version of this speaker over the Google home because the sound quality differences are minor at normal volumes and the larger version of this speaker gets louder and has more bass at higher volumes. Plus the larger speaker has a built-in battery so you could take it somewhere and get something like 5 hours of battery life if you want. This smaller version speaker (NS-CSPGASP-B) is not the same as the larger version and doesn't sound near as good as the larger speaker or the Google Home speaker. It doesn't have the battery for portability and is more comparable to the Google Home mini. It is also significantly smaller in size which is nice on a nightstand compared to the much larger version but is also why it doesn't have as much bass and punch as the larger speaker. If you have the space and it is on sale, go for the larger version. If space is an issue or you are just looking at this versus the Google Home mini, they are fairly close. This speaker is not quite as clear and detailed as the Google Home mini but it does have more bass and gets louder. It also tends to be cheaper than the Google Home mini but is comparable in size to the Google Home.

Good speaker and assistant
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Insignia Voice is first smart speaker in my house. I would say that it's a nice and smart replacement for the alarm clock in our bedroom :) The installation was easy and quick. It connected to my wi-fi without any issues. The integration with google home app is a nice feature. It's responsiveness to "hey google" or "ok google" is pretty amazing (at least to me and my son). It is able to pick up my voice commands from the other corner of my bedroom. The sound quality is decent. I haven't really used it much more than that but to me these were the primary operations for a smart speaker in my bedroom and this little guy fits the bill perfectly. I would recommend this to my friends.

Great Little Google Home Clone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got one of these when CNET's Cheapskate touted a sale, and I've been so pleased with it, I bought a second one during the July 4 sale. One in bedroom, one in kitchen. Love the ability to set alarms, play music, set sleep time, get recipes, weather, check flight schedules, and on and on. And the speaker sounds decent for bedside and kitchen counter. No hi-fi, but pleasantly listenable, especially at this price point. If you use Google Assistant/Home at all, try one of these. I have been very pleased with it. Looks good too, and small footprint.

So far so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this speaker. I have a Google home that I really like and this one from BB is on similar lines. Using it on my side table. As many other might have pointed out, I really like the fact that this shows time. Does everything that Google home does except calling number. The temperature thing is iffy, I'd like it to show temperature for a longer time instead of its current few seconds. Speaker are pretty good for the price. They probably don't have as much bass as the home but I am no audiophile. It gets the job done. Got it for a price of 69.99 but at 59.99 this will be THE smart speaker to buy

Great addition to smart home products
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this! Has alarm clock with built-in Goigle assistant. Say goodnight and google asks when to set next day's alarm. Easy to setup through Google home on your smartphone. Easy to configure. You can set the goodnight command to wake you to alarm, weather, radio or other options. Plus, with Google built-in, you can get traffic/commute updates, reminders or your daily schedule with just your voice. The display is LED, but it's not too bright for sleeping. I don't see a battery backup for the alarm...that's the only con I've found.

Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price I paid, this little speaker can do so much. It's a powerful bluetooth speaker, but also a great Google assistant! I can ask it to do almost anything and get the answer I need. Even my 85 year old father loves to use it to ask questions about things he doesn't know. Does more than the least expensive Google branded speaker...better sound, clock and temp display and more controls. Requires a smart phone with Google Home app, so beware if you are trying to buy to use without that. Otherwise I love it!

Good, but not perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well as a Google Assistant speaker. Sound is pretty good, I'd say comparable to Google Home, but not great. Looks cheap compared to the Google Home. Pro: Google Home with a Clock. Works just like a Google home and can be added to a Speaker Group in the Google Home App. Con: Temp ONLY shows up for 4 seconds after you ask Google Assistant for the temperature. It will NOT show up all the time so it's borderline useless.

More than I bargained for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought 2 of these speakers, one for the office and one for the living room. They work great, have great room filling sound, and the google assistant its actually a lot of fun. My wife and I play trivia games and riddles all the time now. While cooking and cleaning or with friends. It gets everyone off their devices to do some critical thinking and says some really funny things you won't expect. Gave me a lot more than I expected at a cheap price. Definitely worth the money!

On par with Google's native Home devices
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.***NOTE: I bought this item during the Labor Day sale for $30, and the following review is based on customers also buying it at a reduced sale price--NOT the original price of $100. The PROS: 1. Allows you to brighten or dim the clock face to better suit your ability to sleep (its default brightness is deceptively bright in a dark room) 2. The far field microphones are just as good as the ones you'd find on a Home or Home Mini. No shortcuts were taken here 3. The loudness and performance of the speaker is also just as good as Google Home (and a little bit better than the Home Mini). It is more than sufficient for streaming music for casual listening. My wife uses it every morning while getting ready for work. The CONS: 1. Despite what the instructions say, I have not yet been able to get the temperature to be displayed on the clock face. However, that may be due to #2... 2. Performance can be inconsistent--BUT IT'S NOT THE DEVICE. It's Google's all-too-common tendency to randomly break server-side functionality. For example, Google's new "Continued Conversation" feature (where you only have to say "Hey Google" once and then continue to give commands/queries until you let several seconds lapse): One day, it works flawlessly. Two days later, it doesn't have that feature until it "magically" reappears out of the blue. Again, NOT a fault of Insignia's device but rather Google's careless tinkering (my Home units do the same bloody thing!) OVERALL: This Insignia Google Assistant speaker/clock is definitely a quality device. The only reason that I don't recommend it for the original $100 price tag is because I don't think the increase in performance between this device and a Home Mini is worth the extra $50 you'd pay. But at a sale price of $60 or below? Buy it without hesitation!

Great Product - Google Assistant in a Clock Radio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a GREAT product! I bought two more to give as gifts when they were on sale. Set your alarm by simply saying "Hey Google - Goodnight." It will then ask you what time you want to wake up and it can also play nature sounds or music to help you go to sleep. It has a built in Google Assistant so you get two for one here! The sound is good and it is very easy to use. You can also turn off the microphone if you are concerned about privacy or don't want to be disturbed.

Almost as good as Google Home, better than mini
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker is great for a nightstand. The speaker is better than the mini, has a time display, and a secondary display that will show information based on what you ask Google (temp, etc). While the speaker sounds nearly as good Google Home, it is lacking in the bass department. This is comfortably inbetween the two and offers a display and the best touch functionality.

Great Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Packaged well, easy to setup, sounds great, works as it should. Very convenient and compact size as it will fit anywhere. Would prefer a different type of adapter for power (standard detachable cord would be better, but it has a DC type power connection so you have to have some space on the wall outlet or / surge protector to be able to plug it in). Display is nice and bright, very easy to read. Overall I think this is a very well designed "sexy" device.

Great easy to use product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a simple, small but effective alarm clock that was inclusive of white noise; sound machine capability. This little guy fits the bill and more. A simple “hello google” and I get the weather, sound effect I choose, music I want to hear, traffic updates and alarm set for the next day without ever hitting a button. Set up was a breeze and my 3.5 year old loves asking “hey google; what sound does a lion make”. It’s that easy and effective to use.

Good value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this on sale for $50. Great product for the price. Using it for the to replace my old bed side alarm clock, nice to have google assistant built in. Easily integrates with other google home devices and smart home products. As other reviews have said I wish the 2nd display that shows temp or other data stayed on longer.

SO Close to Being Perfect....Except....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of those devices that is SO close to being perfect, but it has 1 flaw that kills it. I'm not sure what causes it, but randomly the device will drop volume 20%, then go back. When it does this, it makes a *boop!* noise. So, imagine it's 3am and you are asleep and...*boop!*, *boop!*, *boop!*. Then it's quiet like nothing happened. Sometimes when listening to music it will do a volume drop, then correction. Turn off "lower volume while listening"? Nope. Move it? Nope. Try a different Wi-Fi channel? Nope. Factory reset? Nope. Turn the volume to 0%? Yes...but it's hard to hear music at 0% volume when you actually want it ;) I contacted Insignia support who suggested returning for a new unit, which I did, and the issue is still there. Is it just a defective batch in a region? If there is a way to fix that with a firmware update, it's for sure a 5 star device. I really really want to like it as it doesn't deserve a 2 star rating. I wanted to use this as a clock radio replacement, but it's just that 1 thing that makes it a horrible clock radio. Everything else about this is great. The sound, the build quality, everything else. Anyone else have this issue?

Posted .Hi there,
Thank you very much for purchasing and reviewing our Voice Smart Bluetooth Speaker, we value your constructive comments and they certainly help us to improve our products. This issue with the volume will be resolved in our next software update in early December. This way the speaker will be locked to only drop 20% if music is playing or if an alarm is triggered; nothing else will trigger it and also the speaker will allow you to manually disable this feature on the display.

Voice Speaker with Google Home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was look for something like this to have a clock on my nightstand as well as can be used as an alarm clock in the morning. Google Home is nice to have it for built-in so i can ask for weather, news, and play musics. The only missing is temperature display that shows about 5 seconds before it disappears.

Works great and fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice consolidation of a Google Mini and alarm clock. Got a few of these for kids rooms, guest room, and main bedroom. Works as well as our minis which are now deployed in other rooms throughout the house. Makes it easy to set alarms as that can be done by voice, wake up and ask about weather to plan wardrobe, and looks nice. Would buy more if I ever need to.
