I have a Google home and bought one of these for another room. Overall I don't really like the way it looks, but the speaker works great, I would say as good as the Google home or better. The microphone on this is definitely better than the Google home. The clock is a nice feature if you need a clock were you are placing it. Be aware the temperature only displays when you ask what the temperature is outside, it is not always on. For the price, Bestbuy keeps putting these on sale regularly it is a great product. Google home only beats it in looks.

Good Sound, quality, average performance For $25 is a great deal. Has enough volume to hear around room, good sound, quality of manufacture. However has a few “problems”. I just Google voice just for 4 things, set alarm, turn on/off lights, find something at Google and play music at Spotify. Find something at Google and turn on/off light great performance; set alarm and play music, not always do it right. But for $25, for me isn’t not big deal. I big minus is that you need internet to work Clock. One night, internet was cut at the block and Clock doesnt display

Wanted to get the Google Home for Dad for Christmas. Saw this on sale and ordered it. Set it up last week, and was very pleased. Dad has an Echo, an echo dot, and a tap. They’re ok, but using the google infrastructure makes a big difference. More and better answers, more accurate information, just a better experience all the way around. Dad is Very Pleased.

Everything seemed to work fine except for my alarm. I unplugged the cable and changed the language but it didn't want to set an alarm. It kept saying that something went wrong and that there was a glitch. I found out that my device hasn't been updated to the latest version. So I held the back circle button down for about 15 seconds to factory reset it. Now my alarm works! So if you're having trouble, try that. Hope that helps! The sound on this device is loud. The Google assistant is great as expected. Overall, I like it.

Using this as a replacement for an ancient clock radio. Sound quality is pretty good. Has Google Assistant built-in, which comes with all of the pros and cons of that system. LED brightness and alarm volume can be controlled via Google Home app (Devices > Settings). LED brightness can also be changed by touching the circle button and plus (+) or minus (-) on the top of the speaker. Occasionally has some trouble hearing me, and audio seems to cut in and out during quiet parts of songs when volume is low (10-15%). Otherwise pretty solid for the price.

Got these when they were on sale for black friday sale. Initially alot of the functions did not work (alarm, bluetooth, etc..). I contacted Insignia, who advised that I press the reset button on the back, reconnect, and wait for up to 48hrs for the unit to update the software. A couple days later I tried the above functions and now EVERYTHING as advertised works! Also, the speaker sounds Excellent, especially for its size. Best "Alarm Clock" I've ever owned. Great for playing music/radio streams when falling asleep, and tell the unit to turn off after a set amount of time. Highly Recommend, if have the patients to set it up correctly!

Insignia™ - Bluetooth Speaker with Google Assistant is awesome. The little speaker is great. You can set more than one alarm and tell it to snooze.

We REALLY like the sound on this unit. The Bluetooth connection works well and the sound is extremely good. I have a Bose portable speaker and it matches it for sound quality. The only negative is it sometimes can't hear you when playing music, and if you want to listen to a specific song you have to get a paid subscription to a service (otherwise it only plays song categories). For example, if you want to hear "We Will Rock You" by Queen, it says "here is a station that plays songs similar to "We Will Rock You" by Queen.... kind of dumb.

Really nice little unit, awesome alternative to Google Home or Home Mini! Especially when you can catch it on the deal of the day for less than $20 like I did! Pros: - Works exactly like any other Google home smart speaker (well mostly) - Easy setup - Clear sound - Has a 1A USB charging port (good for charging your smartwatch) - Has an always on Clock and simple info display (Temp, alarm, etc) Cons: - Can't make calls - May not connect to some newer wireless routers (had to use 2.4 ghz signal on my router)

This is a pretty decent assistant. 1. Sound is pretty loud ( maybe not for a main party speaker if you are looking for clarity) 2. Most features that are present in the official Google mini are available on this with the exception of being able to read some books and have the assistant simultaneously play the background sounds while reading. For the price $25 it was perfect. Now in 2020 the full size assistant is the same price and may be a better option

When on sale doing the holidays, these are a comparable or cheaper than price than the Google Mini. These are the form factor of the full size Google home but at the price of the Mini. I would tank these insignia models in between the two Google home sizes as far as functionality and sound quality. I prefer the insignia to the Mini because of the clock. I also like the simple looks of the insignia. Once in a while, this insignia loses connection to WiFi and must be texted, which is why I removed one star.

This device is bigger with a little bit better sound quality than Google Home Mini. It comes with the clock display which is the best part. It doesn't make a phone call like Google Home Mini does, but I NEVER make a call using any Amazon Echo devices or Google Home devices. Besides the phone call function, everything is the same as normal Google Home devices. You can use it for broadcast, speaker group, etc. When BestBuy provides a good deal (discount price), it is definitely my first choice.

I got this for a song, and it is really neat. It has Google Assistant built right in. I don't feel like they really thought about it because it has the ability to display a second line of info, like the temperature. All I can get it to display on that line is the temperature. It could have been used for so much more. Time will tell whether they get this right. In the meantime I like setting my alarm by voice. (It does however confuse my android phone, as they both want to respond to the OK Google command.

This little speaker has surprisingly great sound for its size not to mention the price doesn't break the bank like most speakers of this quality I highly recommend.

This is a great little “smart clock/speaker”, especially for what I paid when they were on sale at B.B. In fact I actually bought TWO of them when I saw and heard them in the store! Nice small footprint, very good sound considering their size, and great Google connectivity with my home WiFi. Put one on the nightstand and the 2nd out in my garage/shop for listening to internet radio etc while “working” on cars and other outside projects. Would definitely buy again or recommend to those looking for a small WiFi speaker or clock radio that does more than just tell time and wake you to an alarm.

Bought this on a deal for $25. This is bigger, better, louder, clearer, and cheaper than the Google home mini and echo dot second gen. Totally worth having.

This google assistant speaker acts exactly like I expected it to. For what I use it for, it acts the same as my Google Home Mini and sounds just as good, if not better. It hears my voice well, controls my lights, and plays music flawlessly. For something this size, I'm not expecting sound to match or replace a full 5.1 setup, just need it to sound full and better than my phone's speaker. It's a good size and looks nice on my nightstand. I would not pay full price for it, but it seems to be on sale more often then not. When it's less than a Home Mini, it's a great deal!

I've had a clock radio on my nightstand ever since I left my parents home - couldn't live without it. But I'd come home to the old blinking 1200 more often than I cared to. For that reason alone this Google Assistant loaded speaker is worth the money - but - there's more; lots more. The weather, jokes, music, news, home control...BEING ABLE TO SET AN ALARM IN THE DARK with your voice alone! Good sound quality and it's ability to fit into the Google Home Assistant and trigger much more than I mentioned are bonus to replacing the old blinking clock radio...

I have several Google Assistant speakers and make great use of them. This includes the original Google Home, the Google Home Mini, the Sony smart speaker (have reviewed that as well), the TIC and now this speaker. On sale at $50, this is hands down the best value. It has sound at least as good as the original Home - to my ears a little better. With a built in clock - it makes a great alarm clock. The Sony speaker also has a clock - and that is why I had purchased it. While having better sound, at the difference between $200 and $50 - it is obvious which is the better value to me.

I'm a fan of this little black box. I bought it for my daughters for their room, and they are loving it. Google Assistant works great. The setup process was easy, just download the Google Home app and it walks you through the setup, and it worked great. The speaker works good for a bedroom, plenty of volume and good clarity. I got this on clearance for $30, and at that price point you can't go wrong. It's not really worth it at its retail price of $99, there are other products that will top this. But I am extremely pleased with it, and so are my daughters.
