I was looking for an alternative filter to my Hisense fridge and this one fit like a glove! The ones at Lowe’s are overpriced and shipping takes too long for my needs, but insignia/Best Buy are known for being on the more inexpensive side for the same quality and have faster shipping. For reference I have a Hisense HRF254N6DSE 25.4 cuft 36” French door with chest freezer at the bottom.

Replace it every six months to keep it clean and clear.

Installation is straightforward, and the filter has a reasonable lifespan comparable to other brands. The Pricing Frustration: What's absolutely infuriating is Best Buy's manipulative pricing strategy. The filter has a "regular" price of $31, which is reasonable for this type of product. However, Best Buy now forces customers into their "Sub & Save" subscription program to get this standard price. As someone who prefers the freedom to purchase replacement filters on my own schedule, I was penalized with a $40 price tag - a nearly 30% markup! This is nothing short of a punishment fee for those who don't want to be locked into automatic recurring payments. The Subscription Trap: Best Buy's strategy is transparent: force customers into subscriptions under the guise of "savings," when in reality they're just inflating the non-subscription price. This practice: -Removes consumer choice -Artificially inflates the "regular" price -Creates unnecessary recurring payment obligations -Makes cancellation another hurdle for customers Bottom Line: The filter itself works fine. However, Best Buy's predatory pricing model that charges customers extra for the freedom to make purchases on their own terms is disappointing and customer-unfriendly. I recommend looking for these filters or even buy a different brand of fridge from other retailers who don't employ such tactics.

I change my water filter every 6 months. This replacement filter was a very easy install by a simple turn of the wrist to remove the spent filter. After flushing about a quart of water through the new filter, the water was crystal clear. My ice is crystal clear, too. The size of the filter is small and takes little space. It's the best filter replacement experience I ever had and renders my refrigerated water and ice perfectly!!

The water filter works as described. Have set up a six month replenish for this water filter. Was easy to install and I'm happy with the results.
