After inspecting the filter it was clear the o ring had failed. I tried to cheap out getting a brand that should work. My advice is pay the extra charge and get the real LG filter

She had to remove the top shelf to do so, but only because we have it set so high. It's nice to have filtered water from the refrigerator on demand, but my daughter and I agree it doesn't taste as good as the Brita filter

When we needed one the store was out so we purchased insignia brand, it was cheaper so why not? It's been a month and the water filtering from the door still has an odd taste.
