water filter replacement is recommended every 6 months. it is necessary to filter all contaminated particles out of your drinking water and ice cubes. Although I also have a whole house water filter system, I do replace the refrigerator filter at least once a year.

I wish these were cheaper but for me they last a little longer than what the fridge will tell you

Bought this filter for my Lg Refrigerator. There were also LG brand filters available for a little more money so not sure if these would work for me or if I was required to only use the LG filters. Low and behold, works in my LG refrigerator and I saved a little money.

These last for about as long as the LG filters I've purchased in the past. The writing says one will last for about 6 months, but I've found that they last for about 3 months because our household drinks a lot of water.

Have to buy it as it is the only one in the store, so I can't get a cheaper one?? That being said it does clean the water to give me fresh tasting water to drink and to make ice cubes. have to buy it as it is the only one that will fit??

cost less than the brand name and it does the same job just as good easy to install

I thought I would give the Insignia filter a try, I can honestly say that I can see no difference between the higher priced LG filter and the better priced Insignia Filter. I know from now on that I will be purchasing the Insignia filter for my refrigerator.

Direct replacement for my LG. I would have bought Best Buy's brand to save money but the fridge was expensive so wasn't willing to take the chance. Not sure if theirs is the same thing repackaged or not but this is a direct replacement.

Given the choice between this and the more expensive brand name product, I wondered whether I would regret buying the cheaper one. No worries, though. This filter works great, my water tastes fine, and it has a very fast flow rate.

Works just as good as the LG brand, but at a lower price

Been purchasing this water filter for a couple of years now and haven't encountered any issues. Bought the manufacturers at a much higher price and I did not notice any differences between the two.

I'm finding that the filter went in like the OEM did and and it is filtering just like the OEM and for much lest cost. This filter from Insignia was recommended to me from a friend of mine. And so far it is working very well.

These are a great alternative to the OEM brand name version and are way cheaper...they work just as well as far as I can see!...would definitely buy again.

I chose this brand for the price. I wanted to try it and compare it to the LG filters I’ve purchased in the past. This worked really well for the first few months, so I’m likely going to replace at 6 months. However, the water streams well and didn’t lag like the LG brand did. I’d likely by this again if the LG water filter is not available.

I used to purchase the LG filters and although they were excellent and slightly better, these are a great value. You basically get 2 for the price of 1 LG cartridge. I find they last almost as long as the LG.

1. This was great for the price. I had previously went to sears for a factory filter and regretted it. 2. It works great and I don't have to go to the store twice a year for a filter. Will definitely buy again next year
