The comparison get with this is cheaper water filter, more room, easy access to water filter GE slate just offers outside has less fingerprint marks.

Got an email on Best Buy have alternative water filters at the half the price... Each one last up to six months compared to Samsung only last for 3 months... So I only need to buy the 2 Pack 1 once a year...

Not Compatible With Samsung Refrigerator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the cartridge because it said it was compatible with my Samsung Refrigerator and the price was lower than a Samsung flter. However, upon following all instructions and installing it, the "replace filter" light did not go out. In other words it did not reset so I now have to manually track when I will need to replace the filter. I just hope it is working and actually filtering the water as I have no way to actually test it.

Posted .According to the Quick Setup Guide, in order to reset the filter timer you can follow these steps. Press and hold the ICE TYPE and CHILD LOCK buttons for three seconds.
The water filter indicator should turn green.
Note: Only hold these buttons for three seconds.
Holding these buttons for five seconds cancels the reset.
If you cancel the reset, repeat the procedure.

Set a reminder on your calendar or phone. My water started to taste off and I realized I had not changed the filer in some time. This cheaper alternative to the Samsun filter provides the same quality in terms of taste of the water/.

When it came time to replace the filter, I went back to my Best Buy to pick one up. I found out I could order one filter from the manufacture for $50 or purchase 2 generic filters in store for the same $50. The choice was clear, I purchased the generic filters and they work great! Thanks to my favorite Best Buy sales person for his help and always giving me sound product advice

Great product for my Samsung Refrigerator

Great purchase and price was right.
