Works as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this remote control acc for my Canon T3i DSLR. I got it on sale and it works well. All I needed was to be able to take shots without physically pushing the camera shutter button and it accomplishes that. It's good for the times when you want absolute camera steadiness for picture sharpness and selfies. It won't do all the extra stuff that more expensive remotes are capable of, but for what it's designed for it works great.

Does what it's supposed to
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded to a new camera that had infrared capability so I was able to use this remote - completely easy setup and it worked when I tested it. I am not sure of distance, but I will only be using this a few feet away for self-portraits in my home studio.

works as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works just fine, but doesn't work with a timer; you'll need the real Canon remote for that.

Misleading Packaging
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this from the store. Clerk said this was the only remote shutter they carried. The package stated worked with "Most" DSLR cameras. No information on how the product works on outside of the package. Remote uses infrared not radio to transmit. Does not work on cameras that are not equipped with infrared sensors (Canon T3i).

Doesn't work as intended
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought few insignia products and they have been more or less good. However, this remote is for the most part useless. The main purpose of this remote to me is to take self portrait. It doesn't wait for 2 seconds before taking picture.; so when you point your hand (with remote off course) camera instantaneously take picture with you pointing your hands towards camera. I tried to put delay in camera in every way possible but still in vain. I wish I had the receipt to return this piece of junk. Surprisingly I found later (my stupidity) that even cannon official remote come for just $2 more than this stupid plastic.

Excellent Remote Shutter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used this all the time for my t3i (when I had it) and now on my 6D. It's an excellent remote shutter and SO much cheaper than the Canon one. I do wish i could use it behind the camera, but pointing it at the infrared sensor is no big difficulty anyway.
