Great videos and pictures, not so great underwater.

Bought it and it turned on fine, but then it wouldn’t turn on again. Turns out theres a problem when powering on via the power button. It needs to be juiced with the charging cable and then it turns on normally but if you leave it after a while without using the same issues comes back again. I read in a couple of forums that people are having the same problem. So i dont know if i need to return it or what. Also, somehow when i hold the power button and it doesn’t turn on, sometimes clicking the button 2 times makes it turned on. Im guessin it’s a software issue that needs to be resolved with a firmware update.

We picked up the Insta360 X5 about a year ago, and it’s been nothing short of impressive. The creative freedom this camera gives you is borderline ridiculous... in a good way. The ability to capture everything at once and decide later where the shot should go completely changes how you think about filming. Instead of hoping you pointed the camera the right way, you just focus on the moment and let the camera handle the rest. We use it a lot while driving, especially mounted on top of our vehicle, and the results are consistently smooth and cinematic. Road shots look like they were filmed by a chase drone with a perfect tracking operator who never gets tired. When we’re out on mountain trails with larger groups, the X5 really shines. Being able to seamlessly jump between angles...front, back, side, or full 360—means you never miss a reaction, a laugh, or that one person who always does something sketchy on a trail. Stitching and reframing are intuitive, the stabilization is rock solid, and the footage just looks polished without a ton of effort. Bottom line: the Insta360 X5 isn’t just a camera—it’s a cheat code for capturing adventures. If you like dynamic shots, group activities, or just pretending you have a full film crew following you around, this camera absolutely delivers.

I previously owned the Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 edition and while I loved the image quality, I always felt it lacked durability and ease of use in the field. Enter the X5—and wow, it's light years ahead. The 8K resolution is noticeably sharper, the low-light performance is stronger, and the overall build feels way more rugged and reliable. Insta360 really nailed the stabilization and reframing workflow here—it’s smoother and faster than ever. I’ll admit I was a bit disappointed when they discontinued the 1-Inch 360 version, but after using the X5, I’m completely sold. This is hands down the best 360 camera I’ve used, and a must-have for any serious creator.

I just picked up the Insta360 X5 — and it’s absolutely worth every penny. Battery life is solid — I’ve recorded nearly 90 minutes of mixed 8K/5.7K footage on a single charge, and recharging is fast when I plug it in between sessions. The built-in audio surprisingly holds up even outdoors, and the water resistance + rugged, lens-replaceable build give me confidence to take it on travel, hikes, or adventures without worrying about damage. Overall — if you want a powerful, future-proof camera for travel, 360° video, vlogging, or social media content — the X5 is a no-brainer. It feels like a compact production studio in your hand.

Great product easy to use battery lasts long and the touch screen is easy to understand

The Insta360 X5 is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to 360-degree video capture. It delivers stunning 8K resolution with crisp details and vibrant colors that make every shot look cinematic. The improved stabilization is mind-blowingly smooth, even when filming action scenes or walking through rough terrain. One of the standout features is the low-light performance—it’s significantly better than previous models. Night shots come out cleaner, with far less noise. The new AI-powered editing tools in the Insta360 app are intuitive and powerful, making post-production easy and even fun.

Excellent video quality and very easy to use. The stabilization works great, the app is smooth, and the design is compact. Definitely worth it.
