I bought this unit for the clear view inside, the large capacity, and the drum spinner/rotisserie combo. It comes with a bottom drip pan and 2 slotted trays which gives a ton of space for cooking. I am able to cook 10 chicken thighs at once and get super crispy skins on all of them if I rotate trays halfway through cooking. Cooked from raw to done in less than 20 minutes on air fry at 375. Using the drum for frozen fries means almost no dark/hard spots. They are crispy outside, creamy inside and just like I like my crinkles. Air fryer is 100 % the best and ONLY way you should be reheating all of your foods especially breads. This unit easily beat all my expectations.

The Instant Pot Vortex Plus 10 Quart Air Fryer Oven is a versatile kitchen appliance that combines multiple cooking functions in one compact design. With its 10-quart capacity, it’s perfect for preparing large meals or cooking for families. The air frying feature delivers crispy, golden results with little to no oil, while other functions like baking, roasting, and dehydrating expand its usability. The easy-to-use digital controls and preset cooking programs make it simple to operate, even for beginners. Its sleek black design fits well in most kitchens, and the quick preheating and even cooking provide consistent results. Overall, the Vortex Plus is a great option for anyone looking for a multifunctional, efficient air fryer oven.

Worked OK for awhile, but then the display failed

I purchased this model in August 2020, it is now September 2023. During the time we had it, it cooked well, but we wished that we had purchased one of the "bucket style" air fryers. This one wants you to constantly rotate the trays throughout air frying, which is a little inconvenient. Today, the display went out, partially, meaning I can see only portions of the display, but I cannot make out the temperature or time that I am attempting to set it at. I can still start the unit cooking, but I don't know what temperature or time I just set it at. I contacted Best Buy customer service regarding the problem, they were absolutely no help. They just quoted me the standard "one year warranty" jargon, and that was that. I contacted "At Home brands" (who makes the vortex), and spoke with a gentleman name "Denmark", and they did the very same thing: "your product is out of warranty; there's nothing we can do for you". They did offer me a small discount on a new Vortex, which I found to be a joke. While I understand how a warranty works, I found this to be in an acceptable remediation of the situation. When a person pays top dollar for what's considered to be a very high-end air fryer, a person expects it to last a lot longer than three years. I requested a new unit or a repair of the display, but they declined both. I guess I will trash this, but I won't be buying a Vortex or anything At Home Brands again. If air fryers are cheap and break often, well, then I will just buy a cheap air fryer and throw it away every few years. That's my recommendation to you.

Pros: 1. Makes baking appetizers, frying without oil or reheating pizza a snap (no more soggy pizza from the microwave!). 2. You don't have to fire up your big oven and heat up your kitchen. 3. It's fast. I make frozen mozzarella sticks crispy and perfect in 5 minutes at 375° air fryer mode. Cons: 1. It's LOUD. Sounds like a jet engine taking off. 2. It's smaller than advertised. They show a roasting chicken but in reality you could maybe fit a capon, but never a regular size roaster. 3. It beeps way too loud and way too often. I've tried to turn it off, but so far no luck.

Love this oven. I like that it is big enough to accommodate a rotisserie chicken and makes cooking very quickly. There are a few things that I don’t like about it. 1. Opening the door will cause the unit to tip forward if you don’t hold the unit while pulling the door. 2. The touchpad can be a little finicky when trying to make selections. But overall a great product that we enjoy

    Excellent Versatile Air Fryer

I literally love this thing. I mainly use airfry but I have used broil on steaks that came out great. It takes forever to broil steaks and maybe I don't know how to set a stove to cook on broil, but this was simple, a push of a button. Air frying I have done chicken wings, chicken legs, chicken breast, thighs, country ribs and they have all been cooked to perfection. I doubly check online for cooking times but the book is pretty accurate I'm not sure if the area where you live affects this or cooking times too much. The only downside my wife pointed out she can smell the plastic when cooking. I don't smell it and it doesn't bother me, so I'm okay with it but she continues to mention she can smell when I've used it. Yeah foods cooking, that's what I smell. Once you get the times down for your favorite foods, this thing is the best. Fries, tots and frozen sides were crisp and moist inside. When cooking pork, you'll have to be careful to get the time correct because you can dry out the meat, but you want to make sure you are cooking it. A meat thermometer would work great and I have one that should probably use to make that easier, so I will suggest using a meat thermometer with pork or like a roast. My broil Ribeye was perfect. This is an excellent versatile cooker. I have a family of four and it does enough meats at once for us, but if cooking for more than 4 people there would be extra cooking cycles. I've purchased multiple air fryers and one died, one got burned on the stove top and one was too small, but for the price the quality is excellent. This is perfect for cooking meats for a family of four. We're usually on a time crunch so we normally want the first batch to cook enough for us all, this does that. I haven't tried the rotisserie just yet but will soon.

I already have an Instant Pot and decided to try this Vortex Plus . The size is adequate and fits in the corner of my kitchen counter. I have noticed if I line the trays with aluminum or parchment paper to make sure you fold it over or trim it close to the meat. The upper fan can pull light objects or the paper upwards as it cooks. I found this out when I tried to dehydrate apple & banana slices. So, I just cooked on 1 tray & turned the other tray over on it to keep things from flying around but still cook well. I have cooked salmon, chicken & hamburger patties with good results. I am enjoying it and it is easy to maintain & clean. I have baked apple fritters and look forward to cooking larger pieces of meat in the rotisserie. I would like to purchase cooking accessories to be able to bake more in it. A good addition to my kitchen!

The best part of this air fryer is the convenience and ease of use. It's a big time saver! It also looks elegant. But there are a few things to be kept in mind: 1. The oven is smaller than it looks in the picture. I had trouble toasting thick garlic bread slices on both trays, as the top tray was literally touching the slices on the bottom tray. 2. The fryer is not quiet. It actually makes quite a bit of sound with the hot air flow. Be sure there is nothing behind the fryer, as hot air seems to flow out at the back and can be quite hot. 3. Many reviewers have mentioned a subtle plastic-like smell. I found that too on the first few uses, but it seemed to progressively decrease. 4. The touch screen is not that sensitive and I have had to press multiple times around an option to find the right spot and make it work (hard when something is already frying inside!) 5. The over door can get hot, when fryer is in use. Be mindful of that when you hold the handle. The door also opens down, and has hit the stone on the counter a few times, if I didn't gently put it down. I have not used the Rotisserie yet, so I cannot comment on that feature.

I am extremely happy with this appliance, I would have to say that my only negative comment would be that it’s a little loud. Set up was very easy, I watched a quick YouTube video on all of the features and I was ready to get started. I love the fact that cleanup is very easy! I am glad that I purchased this instead of a smaller air fryer, it is much more useful. I made a place to store it when I wasn’t using it, but ended up leaving my Vortex on the counter because I use it every day!

We have been thrilled with our Instant Vortex Plus 10Qt Air Fryer. We have already used the fryer for wings, rotisserie chicken, apples, and garlic parm fries. All have been great and the chicken was the best rotisserie we have ever had. The clean up process is easy. I have seen several mention the noise, but this has not been an issue for us. We would highly recommend!

Unit works well. Heats up quickly All functions are easy operate. The rotisserie operates with a basket, no problems with that. The unit has a few problems. The backlit control switches are very small which makes reading difficult. Fan is loud and cooking racks tilt -over easily when removing from oven. Overall It's worth the money...

This thing is aces! Full of useful features and comes with a basket and a rotisserie. You can easily cook a meal for a family in this as it has two trays and three different cooking heights. It also looks great on the counter. Very well made and VERY easy to clean. Our old basket model was a pain in the hole to clean. This, however, is very easy to clean.

    Great little machine

I have used this machine often and long enough to leave a reliable review. This fryer does what many similar ones can't, actually crisp food well and evenly. It cooks twice as fast as other air fryers I tried. I've tried other oven styles including popular t.v. advertised one. They just don't crisp food properly. I generally hate non -stick cookware and prefer stainless steel. I cannot stress enough how much you DON"T want stainless steel racks in and air fryer. This is especially true if you want to air fry breaded things like pork chops /chicken. Trust me, I attempted this multiple times and ways in multiple machines, to no good effect. Cooking spray does not help due to the mesh. I'm sure if I lathered the food in oil rather than misting it may have worked but that defeats the whole point of air frying. I recommend a tiny bit of dish soap and hand wash these trays. This way you don't have the dishwasher destroying the coating. If you need to soak for burned on food a little baking soda in water works well and no soap residue. I lined the bottom tray with foil, tucking it beneath the tray so it doesn't lift with the air circulation. This way if you make something messy like grilling burgers just remove foil. Easy clean up. Broil: This air fryer has it! you can "grill" meats with this function. with a nice crust. Other air fryers I've tried cannot produce this Maillard reaction on meat. The lack of this makes a big difference how your food turns out. Yes as in any air fryer "oven" rotate trays. The awesome thing about this one, since you have the "broil" function it takes just a few extra minutes to get the bottom tray caught up in crisping. I tend to use a thin board or plate when I rotate trays just far enough in to cover door hinge and I don't have the "mess" others tend to complain about. Rotisserie: I have done a 4lb chicken, pork loin and roast beef. All came out perfectly. Just tie your meat up as you would when oven roasting. Not only so it fits, but a compact even shape makes for even cooking. This is true whether you use this oven or a standard oven. I highly recommend a instant read thermometer and check your meat temp about 10 minutes before the suggested cooking time ends. Other's complaints I have read: Plastic smell yes it releases a smell the first time you turn it on as does any new appliance. I recommend after un-packing you insert trays and use air fry function for 20 minutes or so. Run your ovens' vent hood while doing so. Let it cool and wash trays. Wipe inside of oven. After this initial run I have never detected plastic smells or off taste of food as some people have stated. Another complaint: The housing of the rotisserie shaft is plastic. I'll admit I was concerned by this myself but as of this writing I have had no issues with it. Hope this review helps and saves someone else from trying multiple fryers.

Love it! It has all the functions we need. I also love that it isn’t a cup like so many others. Love the trays. We’ve cooked everything from giant homemade burritos, shrimp, to homemade beef jerky! Also, easy to clean. SO EASY! The only drawback: the touchscreen. Sometimes it can take a few tries to get that button pushed.

This is my third air fryer I've purchased so far it's my favorite. Food turned out very tasty and crispy. I would say the rest run is very important and it's better to do it in the garage or outside because the smell is quite awful during the rest run.

The size is actually okay. But the smell when you cook anything is just awful. These isn’t enough air circulation built in to the machine. While it’s really cool to try and put chicken in the roteserie it’s not. It’s a complete mess and you better know how front that the only chicken that will fit and rotate is a tiny chicken. Nothing bigger than a Cornish game hen. Yes that’s right. Also the container for the wings might fit. 5 wings. Your best bet is just using your over to cool your wings. Because this will only feed two people. No more. It takes up a whole lot of space for it to cook such a small amount of food. It’s only worth the 2 stars because when it went on sale for $79. That’s the only time anyone should purchase it. Cleaning is just horrible and if anything drips inside of it, good luck. Especially down where the door actually comes in contact with the closing mechanism. The door is flimsy and built like a toy oven for a 3 year old. The plastic is cheap abs you can tell. But if you want to try your hand at this item. By all means do it. But I warn you. It’s just too much work for as little food that you can cook. Maybe if your a single person with no one else to eat with. That would be great but not a plus’s one. Unless your plus’s one likes to eat like a rabbit. So salads

Overll, its ok. The door to the oven is loose and creates a problem everytime I close it. The buttons are hard to press and it takes a lot of presses to register. The temperature only goes to 400° when a lot of bake items call for 450°. Other than than that, I think it is a decent size, has a good amount of attachments and it easy to clean.
