Bought this because my amazon cpu was smashed when it arrived because they shipped it in a bubble mailer. Do not buy CPUs from amazon, stick to Best Buy. Best Buy is great.

It was certainly made to replace the i9 of the previous generation. The problem that "majority of PC builders mentioned, was the temperature". This CPU doesn't really have that problem. ALSO, if you go with the i7 10700 - the NON-K version, the temps seem to be "hotter". You would guess an unlocked CPU would get hotter then it's cousin, the locked CPU, but with "my experience", NOPE. I own both 10th generation CPUs. In my opinion, this is thee "best CPU made by intel in a long time" = price vs performance Buy yourself a 120 mm AIO and you're good !!!

Fast Processor

Over net improvement from speed of desktop and software like AUTOCAD. And in gaming my low fps dips are relatively higher than before. Using it with a 1080ti.

Best processor

This is the best processor I have had. Dropped this in a MSI board with Samsung EVO 970 vnand. From the time I hit the power button to the windows pass code I'm up and running online in about 15 seconds. I have seen improved surfing speeds and no problems running multiple applications.

Great CPU

I intend to getninto streaming soon and because of that i require a CPU that can easily handle some heavy multitasking and this works like a charm. Easy to install and is easily capable of somw very nice overclocking, i currently have mine overclocked to 5.0 GHz and its going strong.

Great upgrade from a 4770k

Reality is that for most people, even gamers, an older processor will still suffice. That said, the 10700k does have a noticeable advantage over my older 4770k.

Not alot to say here, except that this i7 performs very well. No issues. Not exactly a bargain, but you get what you pay for. Using this for music production and gaming too. Would recommend if needing an upgrade from a previous gen, but don't need the power of the i9.

Idle temperature is around 28c under full load 65c. Highly recommend this cpu, got best buy to price match it for me. Grab one you won't regret it.

Intel wins this generation for gaming

Great value proposition

It clocks great, the temps are very reasonable with an AIO on the CPU and its just quality overall. She was coming from a 4000 series CPU so this was a HUGE upgrade. I actually think I may get one for my gaming PC here soon as well.

To be perfectly honest, if you do not plan on overclocking, the i7-10700 (The non-K version) will be more than enough. I got this because I use it mainly for games and I want to squeeze every little drop of performance that I can.

But it is 10th gen over 8th so I'd expect better from them anyways . Always been an intel fan even if amd is currently pulling ahead.
